“A great budget hotel in the middle of everything”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

I like a 4 star/4 diamond property as much as the next guy, but when i'm traveling for pleasure i'm a bit more conscious of price and let's face it when you are on vacation, all you really need is a clean/safe space to sleep & a shower. The Hyatt Place has both. The room and bed was quite comfortable. And the location can't be beat. and the view of diamond head was so beautiful.

I wish i could give this 3.5 instead of a 3 or a 4 as there were a few concerns:

-the smell is the lobby is quite weird. Moldy water is the only thing i can equate it to
-the air conditioner in the room is quite loud
-the complimentary breakfast is substantial, but the buffet food got cold quick and there is not great seating.

Room Tip: Mountain view rooms are amazing

The hotel was nice enough as were the people working there especially the valet guys however it was balanced out by a few issues.

The hotel is really noisy, inside the hotel and the area outside. Inside the hotel you will get doors slamming, people talking, etc. If you have a screaming child, I feel for you... Outside felt like constant traffic and sirens and this was on the 12th floor.

The pool was out when we went and access to the other Hyatt given however the beach is 2 minutes away so wasn't that bad. Would have like the option of a swim in a pool though as not that keen on the sea..

The shop was stocked well albeit a little expensive however it still had a great choice.

The room was kept clean and the cleaner was a fantastic women who was so friendly. She even held back one day until we left our room (jet lag) around 4pm.

The free breakfast was a nice option as nearly everywhere in Waikiki is expensive. The options are basic however it is enough to get you by.

The lift is a nightmare and we often walked it took that long. Most of the guests exchanged that awkward look that said is this actually every going to come?

The location of the hotel was really good. Not on the beach but crawling distance and plenty of attractions close by from shopping to the Zoo.

The parking was a bit of a nightmare. It was limited and very expensive. TBH we probably didn't even need the car however it was a nice option at night.

We did request an early check in however didn't get into our rooms until 15:15 so be careful if you are expecting a room on early arrival....

Room Tip: A 2 minute walk to the beach and plenty of hops around. Go to the ABC next door for cheaper options...

We stayed here for the weekend for the Honolulu Marathon due to the location of the finish line. I do have to say the check out time was a bit of a hassle of 11 am. Most do not complete the marathon until 10 am. The staff was polite, breakfast was good with plenty of food. We got a king size bed and the couch turns into a bed. The room was clean. How ever it has a mildew smell that was ever present especially when turning on the AC. If a person has any kind allergies or can not bare the smell this is not a place to stay. It was hard to get over the mildew smell.

I've never written a review, but couldn't resist after this stay. I had a fantastic time at this hotel for 5 nights. Every staff member I encountered was incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful. There was always staff everywhere, which was great. Complimentary wifi and breakfast was an excellent bonus, as well as 24/7 dining (pick-up in lobby or room service). Room was modern, clean, etc. and just a block away from Waikiki! Definitely recommend.

Room Tip: Requested a high floor for better views.

We had a great experience at the Hyatt. Everything was super clean and modern. The rooms were spacious, and our maid service was fantastic. The hotel had daily events including art shows and free lei making. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful, with a wide variety of items that changed daily. All of the Hyatt staff was gracious for our entire visit. Our kids were given complimentary beach toys upon arrival. We will be back!
