“Very good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013

Stayed for 6 nights. 1 block to beach, ABC stores close by. Best yet, across the street from Waikiki banyan parking garage which was only $12 per day with in out privledges. Hotel was a great value clean and updated.

“Great Location, Cozy Bed & Room, Free Hot Breakfast!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

Top 3 Benefits of the Hyatt Place:

1. Location to Waikiki Beach
2. Free, hot breakfast
3. Comfortable, clean rooms

We stayed at the Waikiki Hyatt Place from Jan. 12-16, 2013 and genuinely enjoyed our stay. The staff was wonderful - very friendly and helpful with directions and suggestions for places to eat. We arrived about an hour before check-in, and since our room wasn't ready, the staff upgraded us to a corner room with a view of the beach for free! The rooms are smaller than the standard mainland hotels, but they were perfectly cozy and comfortable nonetheless. The bed - my god, the bed - was incredibly comfortable. I sank right in and slept like a baby every night. Our lanai was the perfect place to enjoy our daily hot breakfast (a rotating selection of breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, french toast/waffles, cereal, miso soup, and coffee/tea) and watch the sun rise (and then set). Though, be warned: Waikiki is incredibly dense, and you'll be able to see into other hotel/apartment rooms (which means they can see you, too). If you see a naked old man like I did, it's your fault - I warned you.

The pool is a bit on the small side (and not heated), but who cares when you're a 2-block, 5 min. walk to the beach? The bar does a nightly happy hour (Mai Tai's while we were there), but the prices were a bit confusing. The signs in the elevators advertise the drinks as $5.00, but the bartender charged us $5.50. There are TONS of other happy hour options within walking distance though, so check one of those out instead.

We'd definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends and family. Last word of advice: Waikiki Beach is massively busy. If you rent a car, be adventurous and drive up to Kailua Beach. Not only is it MUCH quieter, but it's far more scenic and the drive up is INCREDIBLE. Tons of beaches and scenic lookout points along the way.

Room Tip: Higher the floor, better the view. Don't eat breakfast by the pool: TONS of birds. Take it back...

Aloha mother_cow,
Mahalo for your comprehensive and delightful review. It was a pleasure to learn how much you enjoyed our comfortable accommodations and private lanais. The Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach charges $5 for our specialty cocktails, plus tax (not inclusive), but apologize if any confusion. We apologize if you missed our sanitary wipe station, but do provide them for guest use in the fitness center. It would be a pleasure to be your hotel of choice when returning to Honolulu in the future. Thank you for recommending us to your friends and family.
Mahalo nui loa,

“Good home base location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013 via mobile

I stayed here as the price was right. My king bed room was small but efficient. The bed was too soft for our preference . The direct ocean was great. The breakfast was included in the price which was a deal. The host stand opened the bottles of wine we brought and cut our pineapple. I would suggest bringing ear plugs and down loading a white notice app on your phone to play at night as all of Wikiki is noisy. I would suggest that the management add a way guests can clean the exercise equipment as it is flu season! Also the housekeeping services are below average. Our housekeeper did not wipe down the sink and counter top on two occasions, she left dirty glassware in the room and never replaced the bed throw nor emptied out the ice container. I usually leave house keeping a tip but not this time.

This is my first stay at a Hyatt Place. I would stay again knowing that it is not a resort but a nice safe place to stay at a reasonable price.

Aloha Nucleoplasty,
Mahalo for sharing you honest feedback with us. We appreciate your suggestion about the sanitary wipes for our fitness center, and will take this into serious consideration for the near future. Also, allow us to apologize if our housekeeping team did not thoroughly clean your guest room during your stay. This will be addressed with the Director of Housekeeping, and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. It would be a pleasure to serve you again.

“Busy Hotel on the Edge of Waikiki”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

The Hyatt Place Waikiki Place is one of the more reasonably priced hotels and for what we paid, it was very good. The room itself (we got the deluxe room) was spacious with a nice seating area, nicely decorated with modern amenities. The vanity area is separate from the actual bath and toilet itself which was convenient allowing one of us to brush our teeth or to get ready while the other can use the washroom. Very limited counter space though. The bad: there's a lot of noise from the street. I believe our room faced a firestation near by and some bus stops so we could hear the sirens and the bus coming and going at night, even up on the 19th floor. Upon check-in, there was only 2 staff working and unfortunately for us a large tour group had just pulled in and the wait time for assistance was quite lengthy. This is a very busy (not to mention large) hotel and could use more elevators as the wait time for the only 2 elevators took forever. Parking in Waikiki is generally very expensive but we did park across the street in a parkade for $12/day which is much better than the $25/day valet offered at the hotel.

The wifi was included with the room rate and pretty reliable, and the included breakfast was convenient, and decent, including a few hot items including hot breakfast sandwiches. Not fantastic, but good for a morning snack. Given the abundance of good eats on the Waikiki strip, we went out for breakfast more often than not.

All in all a pleasant stay, would come back to stay for sure, assuming they don't drastically jack up their prices once they'be been around for a bit longer.

“Great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2013

We got a really good deal for this place. The location was off the main strip but not too far from the shops and beach. Everything was walking distance from this hotel including all bus transportation. The staff was great & friendly. Breakfast was included everyday but it was the same breakfast every other day. We stayed for a week & by the 5th day, I was getting sick of it...I can only eat breakfast sandwich, french toast & waffles for so long but overall, I can't complain because it was free. Valet parking only, $28/day. If you didn't have a car, public transportation stops near their neighboring hotel (Aston Hotel)...the Hop On, Hop Off bus, Shuttles, Roberts Hawaii, etc stops at Aston Hotel which is approximately 500 feet or one block away from Hyatt.

Room Tip: Valet parking only, $28/day. Public transportation such as Hop On, Hop Off bus, Shuttles, Roberts H...
