Stayed for 2 nights as a family of 4. Friendly, helpful staff provided quick check-in and valet services. Easy walk to Waikiki beach and kids enjoyed the lagoon section. Breakfast was good, and although busy, always had a good stock of items. Easy walk to the shops and restaurants of downtown Waikiki and a quick drive to Diamond Head. Room had a king bed and a pull-out for the kids. Good wi-if connection.

Travelling as a family of 5 it was difficult to find accom. The Hyatt Place was well priced, the rooms were in excellent condition. Location was ideal for a family. Close to most things or within walking distance. Zoo, Aquarium, International Market Place and most importantly Waikiki Beach.
The room was serviced to the highest of standards on a daily basis.
Breakfast was Free every day and part of the package and although not the most exciting of Breakfasts it was a great way to start the day.

Room Tip: Ocean View High Floor

Went there for two nights and had a awesome view of the ocean from the room balcony, had extra bed in a small sofa we didn't need but used. Breakfast was great had an assortment of foods from hot cold, bad side was there were only tables to eat outside... it rained when we were there, and pigeons... Over all nice place.

Room Tip: Ask for a ocean view!!!

We were ready to book a trip to Las Vegas (our second choice of location - Hawaii being number one) when I received an email with an incredible offer for the Hyatt Place in Waikiki. The price brought the trip down into our range and we booked it. We certainly didn't regret that choice. We were debating between an ocean view and a city view room so I called the hotel directly to find out just how much of an "ocean view" those rooms had. The gentleman at the front desk was incredibly helpful and answered all my questions. He recommended asking for a high floor if we were opting for ocean view, so we did. When we arrived, they put us in room 1417 and it was amazing. We had a great view from our balcony. The breakfast every morning was perfect for us. Different breakfast sandwiches daily, cereals, toast, granola, pastries, juice and coffee. The staff were always happy to make us a "custom" version of the day's breakfast sandwich if we didn't like what they had on offer. The room had a breakfast tray in it so we could go down, get our food, and enjoy our breakfast up on our balcony watching the sunrise. It became a morning ritual that I miss now that we're home again! The room was clean and just a nice size for the two of us. Everything we wanted was within walking distance or a short trolley ride. We weren't smack in the middle of all the "action" (and noise and crowds) but could get to it easily when we chose to. The beach at the end of the road (one block away) was nowhere near as crowded as Waikiki Beach even though they're essentially the same place! We would definitely go back to this hotel on a return trip to Waikiki. The only hiccup we had was our luggage. Due to flight issues, our luggage arrived over 24 hrs after we did. We'd been told by the front desk that if it arrived after 10pm, they'd hold it down there for us for the morning (perfect!). Unfortunately, a well intentioned staff member called our room after 1am when the luggage arrived to inform us it was there and see if we needed it that night. It was unexpected and startled us awake. However, the fact that the only negative we had about the hotel was that says a lot for the quality of the people and location!

Room Tip: Ocean view, high floor - 1417 is wonderful!

Hyatt should have spent as much money researching their purchase of
this property as they did on their breakfest sandwiches. This property
just doesn't match up with the hyatt portfolio, I understand that the Hyatt Place is a step down property but this building is beyond a step down, try 3 or 4 steps down. Unfortunately there
isn't much hope. With the selection of hotels in waikiki at this price
point, it would be best to pass on the hyatt place. Not really a kid
favorite and boring for adults too. The pool is so uninviting and within the wind tunnel that even the kids pass on it. We ended up just walking accross the street to use their nieghbor's pool, and no spa/jacuzzi? The breakfest spread is fine but
better hold on to your plate, if the wind doesn't blow it away the
birds will. Just a real boring property. Thank the stars that the staff
are first class, it's the only saving grace here

Room Tip: park across the street for $12 but be reminded that it is a daily rate, if you're even 1 minute...

Aloha avvaa,
Mahalo for your review. It disappoints us to read that our Hyatt Place accommodations failed to exceed expectations during your time here. Many of our guests that stay with us really enjoy our affordable accommodations and close proximity to the beach, Honolulu Zoo, Diamond Head, and Kapiolani Park. It would be a pleasure to invite you back for a much improved stay if given the opportunity.

We were here for two nights. The view was amazing we could see Waikiki clear to Diamond head with no tall buildings in our way. The pool area to number of guests is gross to think about, however the beach is just across the street. Well located with walking distance to almost everything.
