“Great place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2011

I've never had a problem with this place. My in-laws have a timeshare here and let us use it on occasion. It's in the heart of everything, shopping, dining, entertainment and the beach is a block away. The staff are always friendly and helpful. There is on-site parking for $20 and if you need a cab they can get one for you within a matter of minutes. The activitiy center has been shut down and will be turned into a deli for the ABC Store. The furniture and artwork are a little outdated but so what. The only complaint I have, and it's really not a big deal, is the bathroom is pretty small. The pool on the 27th floor is nice, they moved the hot tub to the 3rd floor, the exercise room and sauna are on the 3rd floor also. We've always enjoyed the Imperial and will continue to stay here.

Room Tip: Ask for the highest floor possible for a good view

My first impression was a bit underwhelmed, but once I overcame being in a city which means crowds and noise anyway, it's actually a nice place to be. The gym is really well set up. The room itself is just OK, but the location is phenomenal. I'd stay here again, and would recommend it.

This is the best kept secret in Waikiki. Located right behind the Halekulani on Ocean Walk, there is no better locaton. Many rooms have ocean views and are appoint well with kitchenettes and multiple flat screen TVs and a DVD player. The furnishings are a little dated and the pictures in the room are faded (which might subconscuiously give you a cheesy feeling). Nevertheless, this place is worth every penny paid. It is a timeshare so it won;t have daily maid service. However, a short trip in the elevator and you can exchange your towels and linens twice a day if you wish. There's an ABC store right downstairs so you can get food or drink any time from 6am to 11pm. There's also a Denny's, Roy's, PF Changs and Subway within spitting distance. One drawback is that they charge for WiFi (wired) in the room.

We stayed at the Imperial b/c we used a timeshare exchange. Compared to most of the other hotels in the area, it was not a luxury hotel. However, it had everything we needed for a perfect vacation for us. The location was excellent. Short walk to the beach, restaurants, shopping, and public transportation. Although I have to say that the part of the beach that is less than a 5 minute walk away is small and unimpressive. To get to the beautiful part of Waikiki Beach, it's about a 10 or 15 minute walk along the Beachwalk. It's a very pleasant walk on the beach and well worth it.
We had a 1 bedroom Banyan suite which met our needs. It had a pull out murphy bed as well as a sofa bed in the living room and a kitchen and a balcony. The bedroom was small and the bathroom needed updating, but it was fine for us. It was comfortable and quiet, and the staff was extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. Computers w/internet access is available in the Owner's Lounge on the 26th floor for a nominal fee. There was also and ABC store attached to the hotel which was very convenient. The location of the hotel, and the helpfulness of the staff more than made up for its shortcomings.

The hotel is not fancy, but is clean, good service and the location can't be better. If you are using the timeshare and have some down time be sure to check out the owner's lounge. The view is beautiful and it is a great place to just relax or hang out with friends.

Just returned from Waikiki.
This Resort is a fabulous location, being on Lewers st.
Rooms on the high floors(15th floor and above) have ocean views. The Banyan suite has a separate bedroom and the lounge has a murphy bed(pulls out from wall) and also a sofa couch/bed...a dining table and it has a kitchenette (but no oven-only a microwave)
Easy walking to the shops of waikiki and only 2mins to the beach...
Restaurants are good in that area as well..PF Changs, wonderful chinese.
Arancinos, in Beachwalk..fantastic pastas and pizza.
and a short walk to the Chessecake Factory, California Pizza Kitchen and Marguaritaville.
Down side is that the beach is not very big there and not as clean as the other end of waikiki.....but it only takes 10mins to walk to the better water if you want to spend all day on the beach, its worth the walk.
all in all..i loved it there...

Room Tip: Rq a high room over the street, to get oceanview

I can’t believe the Imperial doesn’t get more love. I mean, it’s in a fabulous location, smack dab behind the luxurious Halekulani and only 1 short walk from the beach. It’s in the heart of Beach Walk which makes the location convenient for dining.

We’d walk around the Outrigger Reef between the Army museum and be on the beach in less than 5 minutes, and the beach in front of Ft. DeRussy is wide and less crowded.

The condo units are nothing fancy. I’ve rented various condos in various buildings over the years in Waikiki, and they all have been very similar, typically small and built in the 60’s or 70’s. Nothing different here. The Imperial is extremely clean and the kitchens are small but functional. You only get maid service once halfway through your stay, which is fine with us. Towels, including beach/pool towels are provided and you can swap your towels out with housekeeping for fresh ones every day if you want. Our trash was emptied quite a few times. There are laundry facilities on the 2nd floor and a fabulous owners’ lounge on the 26th floor. The view from the big balcony on the 26th floor is breathtaking – also a great spot to watch the Friday night fireworks.

There are two rather new hot tubs on the 3rd floor as well as a small fitness center with cardio equipment, weights and mats. One could easily get a decent workout in while staying here.

Off the lobby downstairs you’ll find an ABC store as well as a Denny’s, great for 1 a.m. rolling-in-from-the-beach-bar-munchies.

Parking is $25/day (OUCH) or $100/wk for owners. WiFi is $15 per week.
