“Nice rooms, poor service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012 via mobile

Rooms are nice. Service is bad: no room service after 9 pm. Pools are not heated and are quite small. Construction was VERY NOISY! They wont see my money again! They charge for everything you can imagine: beach chair, umbrella.... I stayed at Kalia tower where the spa is located. The pool is tiny and cold!

Aloha Pickyoldlady,

Mahalo for choosing the Hilton Hawaiian Village! We are sorry to hear that you did not have a pleasant visit with us during your recent stay. Fresh Connection provides room delivery until 9pm but continues serving, along with additional outlets until designated closing times. We appreciate your patience during our current rejuvenation project that will be sure to bring many improvements and additions to HHV including our much anticipated reopening of the Tapa Pool. Our pools are carefully monitored daily to ensure comfortable temperatures for our guest enjoyment with the Paradise Pool heated additionally during the winter season. Complimentary chaise lounge chairs are available at all of our pools while rentals for use on Waikiki Beach and in the Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon provided by a private vendor. Exceptional guest service is the foundation of our brand promise and your feedback will help us improve the quality of our service and offerings. Thank you for your comments and we look forward to the opportunity to serve you again.

Mahalo,
Hilton Hawaiian Village Guest Services Team

I come to do the Waikiki Roughwater Swim on Labor Day. I stay here and always request the Rainbow Tower with the Diamond head view. They have a luau right under your balcony on Friday nights complete with Fireworks. Dinner across the street at Benehana is an annual must do also. Snorkel right in front of the hotel and baby fish are under the pier. Careful swimming over the coral reefs since it can get shallow with low tide and don't stand on the coral. There was a very large elephant seal that beached on the sand and they roap off the area to not disturb it. He re-entered the ocean and came back the next day on the other side of the pier. So cool!

Ready. We've enjoyed this hotel before however it's extremely crowed and with construction it'll be our last. The price and points remain the same during construction. The breakfast buffet in the Rainbow Room (overlooks the beach) is $27.99 minus $8.00 IF you're a Diamond member. The scrambled eggs literally had water, undercooked. Theres yogart, cereal, toast as well. A man came along and sneezed on the fruit so there went my husbands try at the fruit! It's showing some age, add the service isn't typical Hilton service.

Everything at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort was great. Especially the staff. They were very helpful and informative. They took their time to answer all of your questions and to make sure you had a pleasant stay. The room was very nice and housekeeping was the best. Our stay was for one week and already making plans to stay there again. The beach and the hotel ground is very well maintained. The hotel is situated within walking distance to the Ala Moana shopping mall in one direction and street shops in the other direction. No need for a car!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Diamond Head Tower, beautiful view of the ocean. I would suggest one of the suites...

This resort property is a must-stay if you are destined to be in the heart of the densely populated Oahu Island. The complex is very well maintained and fronts on the sandy beach of Waikiki. There are restaraunts, shops, spas, and c-store within the confines of the five tower complex. Speaking of restaraunts, the breakfast buffet has an extensive array of fantastically prepared foods. The spirit of aloha is alive and well here with the great staff.

The hotel grounds are beautiful and the rooms are spacious and well appointed as you would expect for the cost compared to other Honolulu hotels. The beds were very comfortable. I would not stay there agin for the following reasons: We paid extra money for an ocean view in the rainbow tower but had to hang over the left side of the lanai railing to get a glimpse. When we complained we were told that all Rainbow Tower Rooms were classed as ocean view no matter which way they faced. I then went to see the Manager who told me to take it up with the travel agency I had booked through and it wasn't his problem. The hotel is not well positioned for going anywhere and though we walked a couple of times into Waikiki we primarily relied on taxis or infrequent buses which got expensive and inconvenient. Whilst the pool was lovely, we could not have got a lounger uness we sqt on a strangers lap - it was packed. We went to the lagoon where we ran the risk of getting knocked unconscious by everyone trying their hand at canoeing or using boar and paddles. The "sand" was coarse roadbase consistency and not comfortable to sit on. Breakfast and internet were not included.

Room Tip: Do yourself a favour and stay at the Sheraton Princess Kiaulani - much better value and situated and...

Got to stay 4 nights in this property with my family last october. Check in was smooth . Even though it seemed like a long line , but somehow made quicker by the many front desk staff who oriented me regarding hotel benefits. My double bed deluxe beach/ocean front room in the rainbow tower was quite spacious , and had awesome views of the beach and diamond head. The airconditioning was good . Beds are very comfortable . My huge flat screen lcd tv had many channels , my bathroom /toilet was however small , shower in the tub type . This resort is indeed huge, but it was not hard orienting myself to this place. Many shops , restaurants, food to go type establishment and convenience stores within the hotel property made it easy for those staying in this resort . This resort had an empty mini bar, just providing a small fridge to stock up on, anyway an ABC store would provide anything that any guest would need . We were able to spend time at the beach and the 'super ?' pool . The other pool which has the slides seem to be under renovation. the american buffet breakfast that i had in the rainbow tower lanai had good choices , and it tastes really good . The soda/ softdrink( you have to ask the server ) is included in the buffet which has fruits, salads, salmon steak , dimsum , bacon, sausages etc aside from the juice bar ( no orange juice ?) and the egg/ omelet station. The beach chairs / lounges are for rent, you are assigned a towel card each guest so that they can monitor the inventory , and a dvd rental card to which you can borrow movies from an automated machine in the ground level of your respected tower. I made the right choice of booking the rainbow tower ( which seem uncomfortable during our first night when they had a tsunami warning ) which is very much beach front in location .the other tower Ali , had their own pool and spa , which made it a little exclusive . The Tapa tower is where usually tour groups meet , and had their own starbucks outlet, but together with the diamond head tower , still undergoing renovation. Must try activities are the atlantis submarine ( for a hefty fee ), surf lessons ( if you are a good swimmer ), pigeon and turtle feeding (check with the staff ) , sunset cruise and the luau dance/dinner show at the roof top ( be careful of the grand vacation packages that they offer ). Outside the hotel premises , the pearl harbor visit is a must, and the multiple dining and shopping options in the ala moana and the one near the sheraton is really good. i didnt encounter any bad experience from their staff and the services rendered within the resort making my stay a pleasant and memorable one. This place is indeed beautiful (and always busy ), and from a personal standpoint, should be a tourist atttraction in itself ( yes, this was featured in the hawaii five O tv series ) . I am thankful this Hilton property became my choice , and i plan to make it my home again once I get the opportunity to spend my vacation in Honolulu.

Room Tip: ocean front views on higher floors provide great views
