“Great location; OK room with tiny bathroom”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 days ago NEW

I had expected more from this hotel based on the pictures and reviews I had read. Upon check-in, we found the room to be quite small. The only seating area was around the corner from the main part of the room, in front of the closet; which left us lying/sitting on the beds while in the room. The bathroom was beyond small, one adult max with no elbow room for anyone else. Our room faced to the west, and even the lightest wind shook and rattled the sliding glass door to our balcony. The hotel itself is DIRECTLY across the street from Waikiki Beach, and minutes from great shopping and restaurants. The noise from people and cars was actually less than other hotels we have previously stayed at on Kuhio St though, which was a plus. Absent our door issue which caused unplanned wake ups and loss of sleep, I would recommend this hotel only if you do not plan on staying in the room.. Sleep & go!

Room Tip: I would recommend an ocean front room.

This is a great little hotel new refurnished and the staff are lovely and welcoming. The prices are good for the location. As the location is what you want when staying in Waikiki. They have a lovely under the sea/ beach theme in the hotel. I would be happy to recommend this cute boutique hotel.

This hotel was perfect for what we needed. Clean, tidy and fairly price friendly. The best thing was that it is LITERALLY directly across the road from waikiki beach. I'm talking like a 60 second walk, if that. Honestly the only bad thing I can say about this place is that the water pressure in the shower was kind of low. Obviously its not the Ritz, but it feels fresh and I would stay here again!

Before we get started, if you're arriving on an early flight book the room on for the night before otherwise you will not get in until after 1500.

Eggs and things is directly underneath the hotel so there is always a crowd lining up to get, but if you take you room wallet down you will receive a 10% discount.

The Chinese Lantern as it was formally know is a great located hotel in the heart of Waikiki. You have to purchase an amenities pack which includes, wifi in room, playstation in room with free DVD and game rentals from reception, daily newspaper.

Room has 2 x double beds (a little on the soft side along with the pillows) but it may be sufficient for some.

We had level 9, oceanfront room and let me say it is probably one of the best views i've had in Waikiki.

Great location for shopping and restaurants, parking at the hotel is $18 per day (underground). If this is full you can also park around the corner approx 2 block for $80 - 7 days the hotel will give you directions.

Room Tip: Oceanfront rooms are worth the little extra money

I found this hotel browsing through Trip Advisor and at first glance, i was a bit worried about the place, but with a tight budget and a short notice invite to something special, i figured why not? This place is a GEM and allow me to give you my 2 cents :

Location: 5 stars! Its right in heart of Waikiki! Thats all i have to say about that.

Room: 5 Stars all around. It was clean, it had a great view, beds were comfy, and it was honestly quite the surprise.

Service: EXCELLENT. They took care of us even when the other travel website screwed up on something. We were given an ocean view rather than a city room view at no charge and everything was taken care of ASAP by the great staff.

OVERALL: Go see this place. Its a nice little spot, and its got some vintage charm and sure to make you wonder why you didnt see it sooner. Cheers and ALOHA!

Booked cheap room and upgraded on arrival to ocean view . Awesome views on beach and lots of people.

the room is curved with two small beds not one big one.

Great frig coffee maker tv and game machine for DVD. Fees waived cause DVD machine broken.

Good AC and lanai. Classic old school hotel in the perfect location.

This place is nice and simple and is so close to everything. When we come back to Hawaii we will definitely be staying there again as the price was so good. The staff were also very helpful and the rooms were very clean.
