“BEST LOCATION!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

If you are looking for the spa and the mini bar do not bother with this hotel.......but if you are looking for a place to sleep well and leave your luggage then this is it!! The room was clean and everything you needed. The location was perfect across the street was the beach and up and the street was very nice restaurants to McDonalds. Shopping was every where and the street entertainment was the best!!.

Room Tip: we stayed on the city veiw side and we could still hear the street noise on the 12th floor. Not to...

Having spent a week in Kauai prior to flying to Oahu we were looking to stay somewhere right in the heart of Waikiki. The Aston Waikiki Circle’s location certainly did not disappoint and the bustle of the city was a welcome contrast to the natural beauty and unpopulated charms of Kauai.

Located directly opposite the world famous beach, the location is spot on and it’s an easy walk along Kalakaua Avenue or a block back to Kuhio Avenue for all of the shops, bars and restaurants you could ever need.

We utilised the parking lot underneath the hotel for half of our stay and it was priced reasonably compared to other parking in Waikiki and a welcome and convenient option for guests with a car.

The hotel is a quirky building, as the name suggests it is circular in shape with the rooms spread out in a fan formation from the central elevator shaft. Our room was comfortable and well equipped, the house-keeping staff were polite and did a great job of keeping the hotel and our room in good shape.

We were unlucky with our room, it was on the first floor and at the rear of the building, located just above the rear entry and garbage area for the restaurant ‘Eggs N’ Things’ located below the hotel. It could get a little noisy because of this but it wasn’t overly intrusive and i’d imagine due to the layout it would be one of very few rooms in the hotel that had any such inconveniences. If you’re choosing your room, i’d certainly recommend going for a higher floor even if you don’t pay the extra for a full ocean view.

The only real issue we had was the $10 a day compulsory resort fee, an unfortunate additional ‘tax’ on what is otherwise a well priced hotel - For this you get wifi, a daily paper and dvd rental, none of which were of any real interest to ourselves. Whilst I realise a lot of people cannot live without wifi, for us a vacation to a paradise like Hawaii is a nice excuse to escape the constant connectivity of life at home so it would have been nice not to have been forced to pay for this along with the unused dvd rental and daily paper.

As mentioned the restaurant Eggs N’ Things is just below the hotel at street level and you’re entitled to 10% off as a guest of the Circle. There are often queues for this famous diner down the boulevard and I would certainly recommend it for cheap and decent quality food. The menu has Hawaiian favourites such as Loco Moco as well as Omelettes of all varieties and plenty of other options. Well worth a look.

To summarise, if you’re looking for a well priced and quirky hotel with a beach front location right in the heart of Waikiki then the Circle really is an excellent option.

Room Tip: Go well above street level, Waikiki is probably the noisiest place in Hawaii after all!

I just stayed at this hotel on vacation and it was great! Very charming and the price can't be beat. Excellent view and having your own private balcony is amazing. The room was very clean and the beds were comfy. The showers are on the small side, but it is all about location, location, location. Walk right out of the hotel and onto the beach! We kind of liked the fact that it was on the smaller side because it made us feel more at home. We would stay here again and highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Choose a room that has at least a partial ocean view and not a city view!

We stayed in June 2011. We had an excellent stay. The hotel price was amazing. Right on the beach, walk to everything. Very very clean, staff were very helpful. Rooms are not large but why go to Hawaii if all your going to do is stay in the room. I would recommend to couples. Not great for children there is not enough room for a cot or space for them to play within the room. We have stayed at expensive places in Hawaii and here and I recommend this place every time. Its half the price of other ocean front locations.

Room Tip: The higher the better - less noise on upper floors

We stayed here for 10 nights, ocean view room, my wife and 20 year old daughter. We got there early, rooms ready we got straight in, open the door and went ok, looked about as big as our 20ft caravan, but after unpacking and checking everything out we all looked at each other and all agreed this place was all right. Bathroom small, but was spotless, Room was squeaky clean had everything you need, and the view was fantastic.
Location is the best, first time in Hawaii but would stay here again. Rooms are made up early and the cleaning lady's did first class job, no pool but you know that, beach is just across road, food is everywhere, public transport is just in front,
Tour booking downstairs. Eggs and things down stairs, never went, but Asians love the place, but if you can't find anything to eat within 5 min walk, that you would go back to again, and again, you must be a pain in the bum. Did hear other people say it was small, but your not there to sit in room all day, beds good, a/c a bit noisy but not big problem.
Great value for money, I would say go for it, you'll have the best time, we stayed 5 nights at bellagio before this so had good idea about rooms, have been to 5 stars through out Asia, the Circle is fine

I agree with previous poster want to say "stay away" so I won't have any problems booking here again. I Love this little boutique hotel. Yes, if you are looking for some huge room, this ain't it - but more than adequate for 2 people. And yes, if you have ever done any cruising the rooms seems absolutely spacious. Well-thought out and loved the layout and design touches. Felt like I was Judy Jetson and had been transformed back to my childhood. We were only in HNL for 3 nights after a week in Maui and knew that we wanted an oceanfront, so it was well worth the splurge. We were all the way top floor, direct oceanfront, absoluely fantastic views. Front desk very friendly, maid service, prompt, efficient and good. Loved the fact that even though a small bathroom, that someone had the forethought to provide 3 good, really sturdy hooks in the bathroom. We have stayed next door in the large beach tower condo complex and that is great for a long stay if you want a full kitchen, etc. But the location, pricing of this hotel cannot be beat. I was hesitant initially with some of the reviews I read, but don't be this place is adorable and I have travelled all over the world. It was a fun and convenient place to stay. I do think there is one caveat that you need to be on a higher floor to avoid the street noises. So definitely request a room up a ways if at all possible.
