“Great Location!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

We stayed at the Aqua Pacific Monarch for 2 weeks in February. Due to change in flights, we had to find accommodation at short notice, and there was not much available in Waikiki for the dates we wanted. We went with Pacific Monarch, and Im so glad we did.

The hotel is not located on the beach from, but is a few streets back on Kuhio Avenue, which is a main street, and only 2 minutes walk from the bus stop.

They have a free shuttle, that takes you to the Ala Moana and back daily, which was great. We walked there a few times, but it is great when you have been shopping and dont want to carry all your bags. :) The shuttle drivers were lovely, and very helpful.

We stayed in a studio room on the 28th floor. It was a bit small for 4 people, but I am not complaining. It accommodated our needs. If we wanted more space, we could have booked a bigger room. It was good to have a kitchen, and gave us the option to cook our own food. We had a kettle, microwave, stove, fridge, coffee machine, utensils, sink, plates etc.

The hotel is about 1 minute walk to the beach front, and about 30 seconds to the nearest ABC store.

The staff were professional, friendly and very helpful.

The rooftop pool was awesome. Always clean. The spa was also great too.

I have read a few reviews from people complaining about the noise. I did not find this a problem at all. Sure, you hear a few screams from people on a Friday and Saturday night, but I think you would hear that at any hotel.

All in all. I will surely be staying at the Pacific Monarch when I next come to Waikiki.

We had a 1 bedroom apartment with a kitchen, bathroom and balcony was small the roof top pool is a good size but if windy it’s very breezy. We mainly used hotel to freshen up and sleep after a very long day of sigh seeing so this was great for us, great location 2 blocks away from Waikiki beach, walking distance from tours pick up and drop off point and restaurants, trolley tram stop across the road. The ABC shop at the corner if you needed a late snack.
Friendly staff, tour desk very helpful and knowledgeable organised our tour and always tried to get the best tour at the best prices for us.
If travelling with kids you have the zoo 4 blocks away and the aquaria about 5 blocks away all within walking distance.
If you’re thinking of hiring a car it's very cheap, but be careful find out with the hotel you’re staying at if they charge for car park. The Aqua Pacific charges US$25 a day we thought that was steep.

Overall a great Hotel and definitely will stay there next time

We had a 1 bedroom partial view room. Great property, great location. Staff very helpful. Probably wouldnt want to be up on floor 29 though. The only thing i would say is. friends we went with had a studio room, the balconies are not big enough to put table and chairs on, you would need to book at least a 1 bedroom if you want to sit out on your balcony. But also my friend requested 2 twin beds and the sofa bed. But she got a double bed and sofa bed, they offered to move her a couple of days later but she decided not to. So i would just check your booking direct with hotel am i getting what i asked for. But apart from that great property.

We stayed four nights in one bedroom suite. Hotel was remodeled but room still in old fashion. Personnel was professional and friendly. Rooms were cleaned. Full kitchen gave you some freedom. Fantastic view from balcony. Great location - 1 block from beach. A lot food places around. Garage is little tiny and entrance to garage is little difficult. Pool on the roof is awesome!
Airconditioner was in the living room only - no central a/c at all!

Room Tip: Good location, close to everything , quite place

The Hotel is getting weared and has a small kitchen with very limited equipment for cooking. Its very noisy already from 4 AM where sleeping was impossible. The location in Honolulu is good if you dont want yo pay for a beach front Hotel.

I had gone to the Pacific Monarch before in the past, but wanted to broaden my hotel choices....NEVER again! It was an absolute nightmare! The Pacific Monarch staff was so accommodating, nice and professional! Even after picking a hostel like hotel for virtually the same price, they gave me an AWESOME room! I've visited Oahu three times, twice at this hotel and will only go here after this!
It's like a home away from home!
They have
-Refrigerator
-Stove
-Microwave
-Kitchen Utensils
You can cook your own meals! I was so tired of eating out every single day! Cooking and lounging is an option again!

Room Tip: East rooms has ME (a restaurant across the street) fragrance in the morning. I advise not eating th...

The proximity of the hotel to the beach is great. It is a 5 minute very maximum walk to Waikiki Beach. You are behind the Hyatt Hotel. The hotel provides you with beach towels and beach chairs. The hotel is close (5 min walk) to retail shops which are located on the main road (Kalakaua Ave). There are ABC shops everywhere and they can provide you with basic amenities and groceries ie drinks, bread etc. There is a big SafeWays grocery store located about 20min walk away but found it expensive. The free wifi in your hotel room and hotel foyer is great. We had a studio apartment ocean view for 3 adults and it was great. Had a kitchenette, balcony, everything you need. Great ocean views from the apartment and also from the balcony which had a table and chairs. The hotel provides a free shuttle service which is fast and convenient. It runs along the major road, from Diamond Head right to the Ala Moana Shopping Centre. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel is also located near public transport bus stops, so you can get around Honolulu to the tourist spots in-expensively this way ie Pearl Harbour, Diamond Head (approx US$2.50 each way). Very glad we chose this hotel and not an apartment building near the Marina, as is quite a distance away.
Definately recommend this hotel for location, amenities and price. Also a good family hotel/apartments if you have children.

Aloha!

Thank you very much for staying at the Pacific Monarch Hotel and for your positive reviews on the hotel.

Having the shuttle service is very convenient when you are not renting a car and want to go to the mall or walmart, or even just take a ride to various areas of Waikiki.

As mentioned above we appreciate everything you said about the hotel and if there is anything we can do for you or have any questions for us, please feel free to give us a call.
