“Great location and value.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

The Pacific Monarch is perfectly located just two short blocks from Waikiki beach and reasonably priced, offering great value.

We booked a 1 bedroom suite for 3 nights there. The suites are small but have everything you need. There is a full kitchen, a dining table for four and a hide-a-bed in the main area. There is also a desk and flat screen TV. The bedroom is a reasonable size with two closets and a dresser. The bathroom is a full 3 piece. There is a safe in the room as well. The rooms are clean and have plenty of windows. Dishes and cooking needs are provided. There is a decent sized patio as well.

The staff are very friendly and check-in was a breeze.

There is plenty of shopping within walking distance from low to very high end pricing. There are plenty of restaurants nearby as well. There is also a Zoo within walking distance on the far end of the beech.

The only thing I didn't like, was that there is only one air conditioner in the suite and it is in the living area. There is a ceiling mounted fan in the bedroom but I would have preferred A/C. There is no TV in the bedroom either (not a concern to me but could be for others). Some of the rooms face the main street which has high traffic. Ours was in the back, so not a concern.

We had to check out well before our plane had to leave. The hotel checked our bags and suggested we could use their hospitality area. It is a large covered patio with plenty of seating and a flat screen TV. Access to the pool, hot tub, sauna and showers is off of this area as well.

Overall a great stay. If your not bothered by the few negatives I have mentioned here, I would highly recommend staying here.

Everything about this hotel was awesome for my husband and I . We will be going back with our son and will recommend this to all our friends and family. Fantastic value great location! We think that says alot since this is about our 12th trip to waikiki. We have stayed everywhere. A little dated but awesome all the way around. Staff great great great!!! Rooms are redone and are nice. Pool on the roof is warm and awesome! We will be seeing them soon!

Room Tip: The higher the better

Our family of two adults and two teenage boys have just got back from our Hawaiian holiday. Pacific Monarch was the first place we stayed, and we were extremely pleased. Now I must state that we are cavers and trampers (hikers) from New Zealand so our idea of luxury are showers, toilets that flush and beds with linen. We found the staff very friendly and helpful. One separate bedroom, with twin single beds and a fold out queen sized sofabed in the main room, both were clean and comfortable. We cooked most dinners there and had everything we needed to prepare and cook our meals including pots, pans, refrigerator and freezer, huge stove with 4 hotplates and oven, microwave, and coffee maker. Great location, a short walk (2 blocks) to main street of Waikiki. The noise level outside the hotel at night is about what we expected in the centre of a big city. Air conditioning noisy to us but the fans were quiet. Great location for us as we like to be out and active all day so don't have time to waste. The teenagers NEED their WIFI and that worked fine. The pool was popular with the boys, and the Bus stops just about at the door. A tidy, clean place to stay not excessively fancy. Recommended.

Room Tip: Higher floors seem quieter.

My teenage children and I recently spent 3 nights at the Pacific Monarch. I chose this hotel based on price, rating, and location. This hotel is 2 short blocks from Waikiki Beach and within a few blocks of MANY restaurants and stores. The location cannot be beat! All hotel staff I had contact with were gracious and friendly. I booked a city view studio room but was complimentary upgraded to a partial ocean view 1-bedroom at check-in. THANKS! Our room included 2 twin beds and a sofa bed, dining table with 4 chairs, and a small kitchen. I did not have a car, so did not use the parking garage.
Beach towels and beach chairs are complimentary for guests. Ask at the front desk. We loved the rooftop pool and the views are amazing! The elevators are fast. Street noises were not bothersome at all.

However, we did experience a few problems with the hotel, which is why I gave it an average rating. 1:) The air conditioning was weak...our room never really cooled off the entire time we were there. 2)The wifi was spotty at best...most of the time it didn't work at all...VERY ANNOYING 3) several times we had trouble getting our keys to work.

I think they are under new management and just need to get the kinks worked out. We enjoyed our stay at the Pacific Monarch, and would consider staying there again, based on the location alone.

This hotel is ideally located, right in the middle of the heart of Waikiki. The hosting quality is good, and reasonably priced. But this is Waikiki, it is very noisy night and day. The view from the rooftop pool of the hotel is absolutely amazing !

At the last minutes we decided to book a hotel/condo with an ocean view, because we remembered why we came to Hawaii, to enjoy the ocean. Initially the room we booked was a studio with partial ocean view. My wife really wanted more ocean view, because she planed to work on her school project while in Hawaii, and facing the ocean was what she desired. It was a tough situation, because the rooms were quite fully booked. However, one of the hotel staff Cherlita patiently assisted us and went through much trouble to get us a room with a wonderful ocean view. Moreover, the facility was clean and the staff were pleasant and helpful. It's only two blocks from the beach.

Room Tip: One bed room suite facing the beach at 12th floor and above has the best view.

Great location and place to stay for the price! Super location, very clean, room enough for our family of four ( 13 & 15 yr old kids). I spent a few hours researching locations in Waikiki and this was one of the first places to pop up. Great price, great pictures.... Something has to be wrong with it. 2 hours later I was brought back to this hotel. I booked it. We were not disappointed. Very clean and it was just what we were looking for. Studio with a well equipped kitchen set up, kids loved the pool (best view around, but a bit windy),great location to watch the fireworks out on the water on Tuesday night, a short walk to the beach, and any area in Waikiki.
