“Great hotel for the thrifty while still in the center of things”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

My wife and I stayed one week. The staff were excellent, very helpful, and consistently exuded the "aloha mood"! Everything we wanted in Waikiki was within walking distance, including a grocery store a block away (hidden) which appeared to be priced for local consumers, as opposed to the many stores marketing to tourists. It is a quiet location, half a block off the one of the busiest streets. We used the convenient bus stop half a block away when we wanted to get to the volcano, outlying "snorkeling" beaches, Pearl Harbour Monument, and other Honolulu attractions. The guide person in the lobby was very helpful. The room was basic, large, clean, with fridge and microwave.

Stayed here 1 night this weekend to celebrate my wife's birthday in town. This hotel is a great value for the money. We were able to book 1 night in a junior suite for about $150. Make no bones about it-this is a "budget hotel". You don't get many frills. Our "junior suite" was basically just a big standard room. There was still just a bed and desk/tv but with a lot of open space. Still, for the price, totally worth it. It is in a great location. You won't get any views of the ocean but you are only about a 5 minute walk from Duke's and the Waikiki beaches. As long as you are not expecting a posh resort, I think you will be satisfied with Pearl. I would equate the hotel accommodations to a Days Inn style hotel in the mainland. It's Hawaii so you are paying for location. This is in a great location. It was a bit noisy at night but again, we picked this hotel to have a nice bed to sleep off a night of partying in the city. For that, it performed above our expectations. If you're on a budget, I definitely think you should consider the Aqua Waikiki Pearl.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 6th floor (not sure how many total) and we could hear EVERYTHING going on in the st...

We weren't expecting much for the price we paid. We only needed a place to do some basic cooking and to sleep. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite on the 7th floor, with kitchen and balcony. The rooms were very clean. There was lots of room (we travelled with 2 kids and 4 adults). The kitchen was enough to cook basic meals. There was a sink, 3 pots, chopping board, microwave, 2 burner electric stove, basic kitchen utensils (spatula, egg flipper, knife). We requested a larger pot for cooking rice and the staff came up with an electric rice cooker! Too easy! Location was great, central and everything was within walking distance; restaurants, supermarket, international marketplace, Macy's, Waikiki beach. There is a convenient Health food shop next door which caters for people with food allergies. They can even pack your meal for the aeroplane!
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The only inconvenience was the parking. Due to the limited number of spaces, it's first in best dressed, so if the park is full, you have to park nearby at the Waikiki trade centre.
The beds were comfy and pillows were great. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room as high as you can. It's a 10 storey building. We stayed on the 7th floor and it...

Let's talk about what we did like about this hotel, it's clean, the room is very large, the staff is nice and the price are really reasonable, for Waikiki. The structure is old, and in the morning we have been woke up by the sound of birds out of our window. If you're planning to stay for a couple of night this is your place but if you're planning for more nights I'll go other place.

This hotel is totally centralized and eveything is within walking distance. There is a sport bar next door-Legends (though I did not stopped by) and a Starbucks is on the corner. The International Market is close by and a nice place to do some inexpensive shopping.

The staff at the hotel are very friendly and will help you should you have any questions. The rooms are maintained nicely and I would definitely recommend this tranquil hotel. Aloha and Mahalo.

Room Tip: I would ask for a room with a balcony on tha Nahua Street side.

I stayed at the Aqua Pearl for 10 nights a year ago, and this hotel was the first place I considered for this years holiday where I stayed there for 14 nights. I booked online and later rang Tracey to confirm and pay the deposit, she is very polite and friendly (in fact all the staff are!). I received an email confirmation.
I arrived late in the evening and that wasn't a problem, they even upgraded my room for me which was bigger and included a balcony/lanai that had great views of the cenryity. Thank you!
The room had loads of space, was nice and clean, and the bathroom with bath/shower was a good size too, and it was all cleaned daily by the maid.
I was on the 9th floor (of 10) and away from the lifts and the only noise we had was from the garbage trucks in the morning, but it must have been about 8-9am so wasn't an issue.
As I said the staff were all polite and good to talk to, in particular Tracey (manager), Rachel, Charity, and Henry at Reception,.. and Alan and the other guy who I forgot his name who helps with bags etc.
The guy on the activities desk provided us with info and was helpful too.
The hotel room had a microwave, sink and fridge in the kitchen which was all what we needed. The beds were comfortable. If you want a good room for the night for a fantastic price then definitely check out the Aqua Waikiki Pearl.
It's a few blocks from the beach, so about a 5-minute walk, it's in a nice safe area and everything is nearby. A convenience shop is opposite, starbucks just a few buildings away, and loads of other things just around the corner.
If 5-star accommodation, on-site restaurant, swimming pool, resort-type holiday is your thing then this hotel won't be for you, but if you want a nice clean room for a great price, excellent value for money, then this is for you and I highly recommend. The next time I come to Oahu which I hope is in 2 years time, then I hope to stay at the Aqua Waikiki Pearl again!
