“Good Value, Good People”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

Good hotel, a bit old, but the staff make up for it. Clean rooms, helpful front desk. And good prices to boot, not to mention that it is right across the street from a main bus stop. Right down the lane is Duke's Waikiki Restaurant, and many others. thanks, Paul Nelson

Room Tip: Corner room, junior suite worth the little bit extra

This is a older hotel with an antiquated elevator system. The hotel is in the middle of Waikiki and has easy access to everything. Overall, other than the elevator a pleasant experience.
The staff are exceptional and go the extra mile to make you feel welcome and meet your needs.
Three people stand out as exceptional. Issac, Ryanna (sp) and the lady that was the concierge.

Room Tip: Upper floors have peekaboo boo view of ocean and are less noisey

We absolutely loved everything about this place it is so central it has wonderful caring staff(Charlie Housekeeping) and ( (Isaac Front Desk) were so helpful and friendly but all the staff we dealt with were just beautiful people. It maybe an older style Hotel but it suited us just fine it had that warm feeling about it and we would recommend it to anyone who does not want to spend the big dollars and stay on the beach front. Our room was huge compared to our friends in other Hotels the rooms were so clean the bed was so comfortable it was just a great place to stay..Mahalo Aqua Waikiki Wave you made our stay a memorable one...Ray and Robyn Gold Coast Australia

Room Tip: We stayed on the 12th Floor and had no trouble with external or internal noise the room was huge an...

From the time i arrived at the curb the service was 5 Star, Bell hops, front desk, Maid Service and through out my stay it stayed like that.
While checking out i didn't have to wait with the rest of the incoming traffic for check in and i was quickly greeted and brought over to a piece of open counter and i checked out.
I forgot my receipt so i returned about 15 minutes later, place was packed with guests but a woman came from behind the counter and helped EVERYONE either into a line or helped them on the spot and it expedited the process, no confusion and it was EASY>
Hotel is a bit dated but so are all the hotels in that area so i will return to this one for the service again!

Room Tip: Ask for a room not over looking the alley. When using the balcony the air conditioner shuts off if t...

Our first family holiday in Hawaii and we stayed at Aqua Waikiki Wave. Our accomadation was fantastic and surprisingly for the star rating it was better than we had expected. Our room was exactly as shown by our travel agent & clean. And with three children the room had plenty of space. Bathroom was small but wasn't an issue for us. It was clean & everything was in working order.
ALL hotel staff were friendly & always endeavored to help/give advice when needed. Our house maid was lovely. Nothing was ever an issue.
Hotel is perfect location and central to local buses, shops, restaurants & international markets.
We would definately recommend this hotel to anyone.
We were at the hotel the night of the tsunami warning and were evacuated to higher levels within the building complex. At such a stressful time with 3 children the staff were exceptional and need to be commended on there efforts & how comfortable they made us all feel as well as other tourists within the building that were evacuated. We were kept fully informed & staff distributed water, pillows, chairs to ppl no longer in their rooms. Staff management even offered another room for our family on the top floor that wasn't in use to allow the children to sleep. Cannot speak highly enough about this place. Cannot wait to return and stay for longer
:)

If you don't want to pay oceanfront prices and still want a decent hotel, this is the place. There have been may attempts to provide economic lodging in the Waikiki area such as the Ohana chain with lots of hotels around this same area (Kuhio Ave) but these people do a great job with friendliness and cleanliness, which are the most critical elements of economic lodging. They are not the lowest priced but are a great value. Not to mention that it is right in the middle of everything that you want to see in Waikiki. Also, there is a "must do" bakery two doors down from the entrance. Some of the best and most inexpensive pasteries and sandwiches in Hololulu. Their bread is simply the best. period.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on a corner and the higher floors are best. They are quiet and many have a decent...
