“Excellent Hotel, very clean, good value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2010

This is an excellent little boutique hotel - only 80 rooms. For the relatively low price you get free internet (wi-fi and computers in lobby) a very nice free breakfast and free hot and cold drinks in the lobby all day. Free newspaper was handy as well.

When I booked I was a little concerned about the lack of a restaurant or room service but this is definitely not a problem as there are so many affordable and tasty dining options within a five-minute walk.

Clayton at the tour desk was very helpful in booking tours and did not try to push us into buying anything other then what we wanted- I have heard that at some of the other chain hotels they try to sign you up for everything!

We stayed in an executive suite as we were staying for 10 nights and wanted something with a bit more room. The room was fantastic for the same price or a bit cheaper then a tiny room in one of the bigger beachfront hotels (Outrigger, Hilton etc.) we got a large room with king bed, lounge area, kitchenette, two bathrooms, two balconies, plenty of space and a nice view of the canal and mountains. The room was clean and we liked the trendy green decor. The flat screen TV was also excellent.

The location is good as long as you can handle a 10-minute walk to the beach. If you are not going to stay right on the beach this is your best bet as you get a nice view of the mountains and canal rather then buildings like at most of the other hotels off the beach. I did not find the street noise to be much of a problem we were on the 5th floor- only the occasional noisy truck or motorcycle disturbed us. It was also nice and quiet in the lobby and by the pool- no constant stream of people walking through like at the larger beachfront hotels.

I have travelled quite a bit and usually stay at 4-5 star hotels and this was better then most of those. I think you would be hard pressed to find such a good value hotel anywhere else in the world.

The first night we were on the canal side on the second-highest floor and right over the street. The street between the canal and the hotel is a three-lane arterial and is constantly busy and continually noisy. Lots of buses and motorcycles. The windows are not at all soundproofed -- they're actually the old style louvered, thin plate glass that in some places don't even fully shut.

The second night we were on the other side of the hotel, about ten feet from the lanais of the neighboring apartments. Hardly any street noise, but the guy just across and his drinking buddies stayed up late on their lanai loudly evaluating everything from football players to beaches. Again, the windows would barely shut, and there were still gaps.

Just about everything else about this hotel was great. The exceptions were the breakfast, which had meager choices and sour milk, and the uselessly slow wireless internet. But if they'd soundproof their windows we might stay there again.

The hotel has around 80 rooms, mine had a kitchenette which was useful, refreshing room design (not beige which in America is amazing), very helpful staff, no fuss, simple breakfast - all in all had the relaxing feeling that i had joined a little holiday community of ebbing and flowing guests - cheery attitudes all round, minutes from the beach and all the other amenities of waikiki.

I didnt find the road noise a major problem, its set back from the road which has a good view over the mountains and waterway. However if you like to lie in and cant abide traffic sounds (its not a super highway or anything like that) then you might find the mornings a bit noisy.

We stayed here for three nights in December. The staff was very helpful.
On the downside, the rooms are very noisy. When they refurbished the hotel, they obviously didn't care about the windows.  This gives the feeling that you are sleeping with all the windows open, and you will hear all the trucks and buses as if they would pass right next to your bed. Traffic calms down at night however. Valet parking was quick and friendly. Computers to print your boarding passes were also available.

This is a lovely, clean and centrally located hotel in Waikiki. It's not on the water, but it is tremendous value for its location. I have stayed at a hotel on the beach which was fantastic but I really liked staying here as well.

Stayed here for 3 nights last week. The staff were wonderful, the location's great & so's the value. A short walk to the beach & even shorter walk to Kalakaua & Beach Walk, but that's part of the fun. Only slight complaint was the room was rather small & didn't have a lot of storage room for clothes, etc. but we were only there for 3 days & a little bit of re-arranging made it work fine for us. Extra thanks to Crystal & James for their help. Will definitely stay there again next time we're in Waikiki.
