We first visited Teddy's during our last visit to Hawaii several years ago, and we thought it was a great alternative to the super-expensive restaurants in Waikiki. The food seemed a little healthier than standard fast-food fare, and the place was very clean and well-organized. This time around, we still liked it, but it seemed just a bit less great.
First of all, Waikiki was so overcrowded, so everywhere we went the lines were ridiculously long, including at Teddy's, where you order at the counter and they call your number when your order is ready.
This is a place that could use the electronic devices to let you know when your order is ready. There are many accents around and many non-English speaking people, and the young lady taking the orders really couldn't pronounce all the numbers clearly. So....somebody else picked up our order because he misunderstood the number.
Our food was good, but tasted greasier than in the past, even the veggie burger. It's possible that this was a result of the large crowds and the need to keep up. Not sure.
The garbage cans were OVERFLOWING!! Someone finally came out from behind the counter to empty them, but it was very unsightly when we first walked in.
All this being said, Teddy's is still a place where you can get burgers, veggie burgers, fries, and even salads at a decent price, and the food tastes good. I think overall the quality is good and the service is friendly and good, and I am giving them a "very good" rating because I think we were there at a super-crowded time. Would love to try Teddy's again when Waikiki is a little quieter.
