A must do Waikiki experience. Lovely calm vibe, wonderful mai tai's - try their signature cocktail - the Scratch mai tai, it's very good! Wonderful view across to Diamond Head and of the ocean makes this a fabulous sunset spot.

“Wonderful Hawaiian experience!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2015

Just like the Surf Lanai Restaurant at the RH, the Mai Tai Bar is literally right on the beach! The Mai Tai Bar's dinning menu is quite simple but the food was great and everything were very reasonably priced. This bar is simply an ideal location to just sit back, relax, enjoy some drinks and watch the sunset and the views of the Waikiki beach/Diamond Head.

“Definitely agree with others on here.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2015

Thank you to the reviewers that called this a must do and a "box checking" experience to try the scratch Mai Tai while watching the sunset. Get there about an hour before and enjoy the evening. Cannot reccomend this enough. The drinks are made by people who know. You will taste the difference. Worth the price.

“Great views but overpriced”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2014

We ate at the Mai Tai Bar on the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. The views of Diamond Head and the sunset are beautiful. The bar must be under new management. The tables and chair were new as was the waiters and food. The service was very slow. I think due to not enough help. Our waiter was friendly, but that didn't make up for everything else. My husband had 2 Mai Tai's. They both tasted different, both were not good. We split a hamburger that came with potato cubes (cold), 2 Mai Tai's and a lemonade. The bill was $70. Then they validate parking but we gave the valet a $5 tip. In all a hamburger and 2 drinks cost $75. We will not be going back nor will we recommend it. Too. Expensive for us
