“Great experience at the Waikiki Beach Walk!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013

We traded into the Waikiki Beach Walk for 4 nights with our Wyndham ownership points. We had the two bedroom Presidential Suite. It was on the top floor and consisted of two floors with stairs going up to the master bedroom and bath. It had three lanai's as well as a full kitchen. We shared it with another couple. We did not spend a great deal of time in the beautiful rooms as we were out and about every day, but it was a great oasis to return to at the end of the day. The staff was very friendly, courteous and very helpful. We used the underground valet parking which was pricey but very convenient. It was a short easy walk to the beach from the hotel and it was an immediate access to the glittery night life of upscale Waikiki. We walked to great restaurants every night. We used the kitchen to prepare leisurely breakfasts and to warm up our restaurant leftovers. It was altogether one of the nicer timeshare condos we have seen. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: If you have the points or if you can broker a deal go for the upgraded suites; they are spectacular.

Stayed at Wyndham in May 2013 with my family of 6, 4th floor 2bed 2 bath, accommodation was great, clean and in a great location we walked to everything. We arrived on flight from Melbourne at 7am so wasnt expecting an early check in but got lucky and we all appreciated being able to get rid of luggage and go explore. Visit the Yard House across the road during happy hour it is great with great prices. After reading reviews I was concerned about being hassled by timeshare people, they were definately out the front but never approached us once. pool was good. Would stay again in a minute great accommodation, great staff, great location all at a great price. Booked through Weng from Myhawaiiresort.

This was my family's first time to Hawaii and it was amazing. The hotel was great. We stayed in a 2 room/2 bath. It had a kitchen which was nice. The hotel is right in the middle of everything. You can just walk out the door and you're on the main streets in Waikiki. There are lots of restaurants and shops within 1 or 2 blocks with several right across the street. The hotel is not right on the beach but a block away. It's only a 2 minute walk to the beach.

We had a great experience here and will definitely stay here again when we go back to Hawaii.

we stayed here last week in a 1 bedroom. it was great. the room had everything we needed and more. we don't cook on vacation and it had a small kitchen. we had a view of lewers street which is nice in the afternoon when musicians are playing because you can sit on the balcony and watch. the staff was friendly and let us store on bags the day we checked out because our flight left much later in the day.
the location is great. it's not on the beach but its only a couple of blocks away. right across the street is everything you need. there's restaurants like ruth chris, cheeseburger in paradise, p.f chang's, giovani's pastrami, and even a subway. theres a starbucks on the corner and a local coffee house right downstairs from the lobby as well. theres abc stores everywhere which is the place to get all your gifts and snacks to take home. for young couples or heck anyone looking for a happy hour the best place we found was cheeseburger in paradise. it's so close we could see it from our room. the food was good and the drink specials were the best we could find. at 3:00 they have $3.00 drinks at 4:00, $4.00 and at 5:00 they have $5 drinks. the drinks on special are of course mai tais, a few local beers and other drinks like rum and coke etc.
we took a few tours where the pickup was at the Sheraton aloha landing bus stop which is literally right behind the Wyndham. we couldn't find it on the map but the staff helped us. they have pickups for luaus and tours from here. there's even a mall right next to hotel as well. we would stay here again.

Room Tip: request a room with a few of diamondhead/beach. there are only a few but you can get a sliver of a g...

Our home resort is Wyndham Waikiki Beachwalk, and we have been owners since 2010. I called 2 months before our arrival in July to ask for high floor, Lewers facing room. When we arrived, we were assigned room 509, parking lot facing with a sliver of a view of Lewers Street. I was told how fully booked the hotel was. I asked if Wyndham Waikiki Beachwalk owners had any preferential treatment on reservations versus non-owners. No response. So after the big timeshare sale $$$, there is no follow through. Something to consider for futures sales.

We did have a very comfortable two-week stay in our 1 bedroom suite with living room and dining room. The washer/dryer was a plus. The 2 flat screen TV's were a nice touch except the reception was fuzzy and not HD. During the remodeling, the radio/stereos were removed. We enjoy listening to local Jawaiian radio. The front desk told us to listen to the radio/alarm clock in the bedroom, which had bad reception and sounded terrible. Instead, we listened to local radio on our cell phones. It would've been nice to listen on a stereo system. We had a large bathroom with a separate shower stall and jet bathtub, which was nice to soak in after a long beach day.

The resort is close to the beach, shopping and dining. Our favorite dining places are Orchids @ Halekalani Resort, Hoku's @ Kahala Hotel, Helena's Hawaiian Food, Lucky Belly and do not miss the ice cream @ Henry's Place on Beachwalk St.

Special thanks, big mahalos, to Charles @ the front desk, for being so friendly, helpful and accommodating! Charles did show us lots of ALOHA!

Always consider your option of buying a timeshare RESALE, RESALE, RESALE!

The best part of the hotel is the location and everything in Waikiki is accessible via walking or using public transit options. There are several rental car options located close to the hotel for day trips or take advantage of island tour packages that pick up close to the hotel. Limited beach views but the beach is only a block away. Booked a 2 bed / 2 bath room which was perfect for my family of four with plenty of extra space. Friendly and professional staff.

Our room's AC wasn't working the day we got there. It registered 78 degrees and we set it to 70 and later lowered it 68. We kept lowering it since it wasn't getting cool. We called the front desk and maintenance came up to fix it the next day. He said it was frozen and used a hair dryer to thaw it. He said that we couldn't put the AC below 72 degrees and that we had to get used to Hawaiian humidity. We have never been to Hawaii, so we accepted his reasoning. Over the next 2 days we kept noticing a musty/ mildew smell and called the front desk again. Also, there were staples or nails poking up from the carpet, so we asked them to hammer those down as well. Within a few minutes 2 men arrived. One hammered down the nails in the carpet, and the other one sprayed a "tutti fruity" air freshener to get rid of them smell. I commented to him that we think the AC was causing the smell and that his spray was only a temporary fix. He shrugged and suggested we try the air freshener, and if it didn't work we should call the front desk again.
On Wednesday we spent the whole day out of our room. When we came back at night the room was hot and humid. The thermostat said 75 degrees. It was cooler in the hall than in our room. I called the front desk. They sent a man up and he said that that the AC was broken and he would ask the front desk to find us a room, or he would bring us a portable AC, but it would only work for one room--- not the entire place. He also said that we should've been moved on Saturday when it was first reported broken. The front desk clerk echoed this response when she was having difficulty finding us another room at 10pm. She also noticed that none of our issues had been reported in the computer. She said she would have to talk with the first maintenance man and ask why he didn't suggest we get a new room on Saturday when there were many more available.
Fortunately, they were able to find another room and at 11pm we moved into another room in the other tower--- with my sleeping 2 year old son. But, the problems continued in this room. The microwave didn't work. Someone must have came to fix it while we were out, but then it randomly cooked food without being touched. The bread toaster didn't work--- well, it worked, but it didn't pop the toast up at all and burned it causing the smoke alarm to go off (again, while my 2 year old was taking a nap). The dish washer didn't empty of the dirty water so none of the dishes got clean. And the dryers in both rooms needed to be ran twice before anything was fully dried.
After reporting every issue the front desk lady acknowledged that the resort was completely to blame, and that things should've been handled differently. The only thing we requested-- was not money back or anything like that--- it was a late check out on Saturday so that my son could take his nap. We were told this could not be accommodated. On Saturday we were 15 minutes late in checking out and the front desk called us and told us that if we didn't leave in the next 15 minutes we would be charged another $100. Outrageous! Needless to say we checked out within the next 5-10 minutes.
We are reasonable people, and we understand that things happen--- but it's the way you deal with them that makes all the difference. If we ever go back to Hawaii we will not be staying at your resort. And to think--- they wanted me to buy a time share at this property! Why on earth would I ever do that after being treated this way???!!! After this experience, I doubt I would stay at any Wyndham property.
