Great hotel in a great place. Waikiki Beach is a hopping place to visit. We stayed here on an overnight to see Pearl Harbor, eat at Morimoto's, hike up Diamond Head and tour the royal palace. Great trip!

Dear Charles D,
So many places visited in such a compact period of time! I hope our central location was convenient for you and your family. I also hope you were able to enjoy our cooked-to-order breakfast and complimentary cocktails. Please try us again. Only this time, stay with us at least a week.
Mahalo,

For Waikiki, this is a great value hotel, and in my view, probably closer to 4 stars!
We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment for 3 nights, it was well appointed and clean, only negatives were it had a limited kitchen and the lanai (balcony) was not functional, being too small to sit outside comfortably.
On the positive, the complimentary breakfast has an extensive selection, and the drinks in the afternoon around the pool are an added bonus.
The staff are willing to please and met our every request, no compalints there.
Lovely restaurants on site, the steakhouse is pricey, but exceptional, and for more casual dining, we loved the Yard House - it had a great atmosphere and 130 beers on tap.
Location is at the quieter end of town, at the newly renovated beach walk, this is the classy end of town, yet only a 10 minute walk from the main strip which we found nice with a young family.

Room Tip: The sofa beds are adequate if you wish to save money and bunk in together. We asked for a higher le...

Dear belinda1410,
Thank you for your review, and the four-star rating given to us regarding your stay here in Waikiki. I am glad you were able to enjoy our breakfast and cocktails each evening. You are right, our Yardhouse restaurant with 130 beers on tap is a great gathering place for young adults or families. Hope you will stay with us again in the future.

great location, great price. Would definitely stay in this hotel again . The breakfast buffet and managers reception worked well for our family of 5. THe room was comfortable and accomodating. Beds were comfortable and housekeeping was excellent. We always had more than enough towels and supplies. View from balcony wasn't that great - but we didn't spend a lot of time in the room. Hotel connected to a high end mall - very nice.

Room Tip: choose a room on a higher floor. Pool is on 4th floor want to be higher than that.

Dear highmain,
Thank you for your ratings regarding your recent stay. I hope next time you get a suite with a little bit better view. You are right; we are in the midst of Waikiki Beach Walk, which is the newest and nicest shopping area in all of Waikiki. We look forward to your return.

Stayed at the ES Waikiki Beach Walk for 2 nights in June 2013. We were on on a family vacation (1st trip to Hawaii), spending 2 nights in Waikiki to briefly tour Honolulu and Pearl Harbor before heading to Kauai. We are a family of 4 with 2 teens (ages 18 and 16). We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite = 1 BR with a king, a separate BR with 2 queens, connected by a common room in the middle. Quality of the room was great, and we REALLY appreciated having the suite set-up with a family with varied sleeping habits. Beds and pillows were really comfortable. Flat screen TVs in each room. 2 ensuite bathrooms. Complementary wireless internet. We stayed on the 4th floor...the same level as the pool deck = where the breakfast buffet is located and where the manager's happy hours take place (live music on certain nights of the week). This did make for a busy location, but the convenience of being so close and almost never using the elevator were BIG positives. Noise wasn't really an issue, since the music was over long before bedtime. There was some street noise being on a lower floor but nothing disruptive.

Valet service/parking at this hotel is expensive ($35/day), but the service was REALLY quick - I think the best I've ever seen. When we called for the car, it was always there waiting when we got to the lobby. In fact all of the staff were super helpful and friendly and really seemed intent on making our stay a good one. Another example = we got up early one morning to tour Pearl Harbor to ensure that we were able to get tickets for the USS Arizona memorial (left the hotel at 5.45 AM). Breakfast does not open at the hotel until 6.30 and there is no room service at that hour. The staff made up box breakfasts for us...with a cute written note to us saying "have a great day at pearl harbor" = nice touch!

Location = the hotel is a 5 minutes walk from Waikiki beach and is right in the center of shopping/sights of Waikiki. From the 4th floor/pool deck, you can take a series of escalators straight down into Beach Walk, what looks like a recently developed shopping/restaurant area. Teens liked the location since we seemed to be in the middle of the "action". The Beach Walk area is a street that runs directly off of Kalakaua Ave, the Rodeo drive of Waikiki.

Clientele at the hotel was mainly families with younger kids = location and great pool deck area make it a great choice.

Overall we found this hotel to be a great choice (slightly pricey) and would certainly recommend it to others looking for a fun Waikiki family experience.

This was our 5th stay at Embassy Suites in Honolulu. The staff from check in to check out was great. Breakfast was free and delicious. The staff and entertainment at manager's reception was exceptional. Located just a short walk from the beach and plenty of restaurants surround the area. Great time and very relaxing!

Dear mykidsdadRedlands,
Congratulations on your fifth stay at our hotel! I want to thank you for your support as there are many different choices and options for families to stay in Waikiki. I assure you that we take very seriously “taking care of our guests” as a lifestyle, and don’t consider this work. Glad that you enjoyed our manager’s reception and our band, Roland and Sons. We look forward to your return.

We loved the hotel, and staff, but wish we had booked a larger room. The hotel staff are very welcoming and were very accommodating to our many requests (I guess you could call us a "high maintenance" family-ha!) we mistakenly reserved a "two room suite" instead of a "two bedroom suite" it was my fault as the room descriptions were very accurate, We only stayed at for one day and decided to keep the two room suite. I wish we had 1 more bathroom, as getting 6 people out the door with only 1 bathroom required a true strategizing session :). The complementary breakfast was a full service buffet with custom omelet station. Everything from pancakes to miso soup and salad were presented beautifully and the very clean and well kept counters made us very comfortable with the buffet style dinning. The pool deck is behind the restaurant and has a delicious lunch menu and full bar available for poolside fun. The property is not beach front, but was a quick 5 minute walk to amazing Waikiki Beach. Beds were very comfortable, but the warned, the sofa bed is not good sleeping option for older children or adults as the bed is lumpy and uncomfortable. There are no feather bed, or tempurpedic toppers available. But young kids won't care. We went shopping and found the hotel was confident to many stops on the public transportation services routes. Only three stops from the shopping mall, and return was easy as well. Overall we enjoyed our stay at this hotel, and would recommend it to friends and family, I would love stay here again, but request the two bedroom suite for sure!

Dear Mary M,
Thank you for your recent review of our hotel. I apologize for you not getting a two-bedroom suite, because I am sure the extra space would have been very beneficial to you and the family. I am glad you were able to use our swimming pool. Yes, it is a nice convenience to get burgers, hot dogs, and salads at the pool, rather than to have to take the entire family down to one of our restaurants. Good news! We will be replacing our sofa beds next year with a memory foam mattress, so it can accommodate both kids and adults comfortably. Please consider us again on your next visit to Hawai’i.
Mahalo,
Bob Y

We stayed in a two room city view apartment. The size was okay and bedrooms/bathrooms fine, clean and well appointed. Like mostly reviewers have said the breakfast and happy hours were appreciated and made the price more reasonable. Also when we did go by the pool there were always loungers available, a real plus in Waikiki. The location is also good. On the downside, the balconies were very narrow and I thought almost useless. For us this was quite important as we always enjoy some quiet time reading/coffee/evening drinks. Also the suites are really two hotel rooms with a lounge which was fine for us but could be an issue for others. We enjoyed our stay but it helped refine our thoughts that we really like the space, the laundry and the cooking facilities of a condo.

Dear Jillch,
Thank you for your comments regarding your recent stay. I certainly hope you will return on your next visit. Perhaps, on your next stay we can get you a suite that has a larger lanai so you can enjoy being outside. I am glad you were able to enjoy our happy hour and breakfast served daily. Looking forward to your return.
Thank you,
Bob Y
