“great family hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2013

We loved our stay at Embassy Suites in Waikiki. It was our first time to Hawaii, and were extremely happy with the location of the hotel in relation to beaches, restaurants and shopping. walking distance to everything we needed! breakfast included every morning was awesome.....and our room was good for a 2 week stay. The managers reception every night was great too - the live band always got up pumped up for our night out! cant wait to go back!!

Dear Avia W,
Two weeks in Hawai'i cannot be beat.
I am glad you enjoyed our breakfast and free drinks that we provide daily. I have had nothing but great comments regarding our current entertainment, as well as our staff. As they say; location, location, location is so important for the success of any hotel.
We look forward to seeing you in the future again.
Sincerely,

We had our first Hawaii trip in February and the Embassy suites was great. The location is great, the beach is only a 2 minute walk away. The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff was generally helpful, especially the Bell staff and Meena/ Bobby at the tours/concierge desk. The front desk staff seemed distracted. The music afternoon manager's reception was too loud and the food was essentially celery sticks and pretzels, but the beverages were complementary.

One tip: the ABC store across the street at 205 Lewers has a deli with great food at reasonable prices.

Would be happy to return to this facility

Room Tip: Avoid anything overlooking the lanai unless you are on a higher floor - otherwise it will get very l...

Dear Simon_seize,
Thank you for your comments regarding your stay in February.
You are absolutely correct that we have an excellent location just steps from the beach, and in the middle of Waikiki Beach Walk. We are especially proud of the fine variety of restaurants that surround us. The free breakfast and manager's reception are always one of our guest favorites.
We look forward to your return.

We received a very nice room upgrade from manager Bob Yeoman and his staff. We celebrated our 35th anniversary this year here with a seven night stay. From the check-in staff, housekeeping, breakfast and happy hour staff all were friendly and went out of their way to help us. The band at the happy hour was very good. The higher level floors are the quietest. The breakfast is quite extensive and they had fried rice one morning. My only concern was the number of pigeons in the breakfast area three or four of the mornings. The staff did a very good job keeping the table clean but the pigeons still came. I don't understand why people feed them - maybe signs asking guests not to feed them would help alleviate the problem.
Thanks for another great stay!

Room Tip: Higher floors are quieter. Fireworks can be seen from the Hilton Hawaiian Village can be seen on Fri...

Aloha ann r,
We are very honored that you chose our hotel to celebrate your 35th anniversary. It sounds like you were able to enjoy both our breakfast and happy hour and you are absolutely right, it is our staff that makes the difference. I agree that the pigeon problem is a nuisance at breakfast, and we have signs that go on the table explaining to our guests not to feed them. We look forward to your return.

Bob Yeoman

I enjoyed my stay at the Embassy Suites in Waikiki immensely! We actually stayed in a city-view 2-bedroom suite - perfect for myself and my toddler, plus my parents. The master bedroom was spacious and comfortable, as was the en suite bathroom. Outside of the the master was the sitting area with a desk/table, couch, chair and TV. The second bedroom was actually an adjoining hotel room, complete with the bedroom and bathroom. The whole suite boasted 2 lanais that looked out at the property across the street, but in between the buildings we could see the Pink Palace and Diamond Head. And if you look to the left, we could see the ocean just past the Outrigger Reef. Overall a nicely appointed room.
Note that this is your average Embassy Suites, as it took over the existing property. So our suite actually looked like (and was) a one-bedroom suite with an adjoining room.

The buffet breakfast was delicious! There were so many choices, and everything was great. And the hotel is right on Beach Walk, where there are tons of shops and restaurants, and close to the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, and the beginning of Kalakaua is just right up the block. It's incredibly convenient.

The service --- Wow, the service! I've never had such wonderful service ever, anywhere! Everyone was super friendly, and super helpful. From valet, to the bell desk, to the front desk, to housekeeping, to the wait staff at the restaurant. I've never experienced such incredible service! If I could, I'd rate the service alone 10 stars!

Overall, wonderful stay. I'd definitely recommend this property to those with families, and anyone really. Super hotel!

Dear AJWCheng,
Thank you for the tremendous accolades regarding our hotel. You are correct, the two towers are a conversion from a standard hotel that we transformed into the beautiful Embassy Suites. Our suites are what we call "side-by-side" rooms so that both the living room and bedroom have great views of Waikiki. I appreciate your acknowledging of our staff as that is what makes a hotel from average to extraordinary. Please consider using our hotel again.
Sincerely,
Bob Yeoman

Our family of 6 stayed here for 3 nights and I would have stayed longer. The rooms were very clean and updated with comfortable beds & bedding. The views to Diamondhead were amazing from the lanai as well. All of the staff we encountered were ultra friendly - especially those that worked during the happy hour and breakfast buffet. The breakfast buffet was amazing with both the selection of items and the make your own omelets/eggs. It was truly a 5 star breakfast. And to have that built into the price of the room made this hotel very well worth the money. Another bonus was how close the hotel was to Wakiki Beach - less than a five minute walk. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Honolulu.

Room Tip: Being a AAA member saved us a significant amount from the regular rate when booking.

Dear lmhjsm,
Thank you for your complementary comments regarding our hotel. We truly are family-oriented, and we think our staff really exemplifies the true aloha spirit. Breakfast and the manager's hosted reception happy hour are the best and really exemplify our price value equation. We look forward to your return.

Stayed there twice in less than 12 months.
Clean, convenient, lots of room, good buffet, the kids loved happy hour.
Staff always obliging.
Very well run and nothing was too much trouble.
All external activities were taken care of by the concierge.
Will be 1st and only choice next time.

Our family of 11 people stayed for 10 days at the Embassy Suites while visiting Waikiki. The proximity to the beach and shops, including the International Marketplace was great.
The breakfast was definitely a bonus for us, as meals are so expensive in Waikiki, especially for a family our size.
We also looked forward to the Managers Reception each night, and got to know the entertainers through a musical connection, it was just like reconnecting with old friends.
Overall a great place to stay, as well as being affordable.

Room Tip: We had 3 different rooms, on 3 different floors, and they all had benefits, partial ocean view, quie...
