My friend and were very excited about this trip. As we are not strong swimmers we left out the snorkelling but still wanted the experience of seeing fishes in their natural element. WE booked our tour via a travel agent and thought the $100+ dollars would be worth it for the adventure.
We were picked up by the Atlantis tour bus and had a nice ride. WE were brought to this beautiful sunny beach near the Hilton and were excited about the trip we were about to take. As this was a treat, we went for the upgrade option which is the bigger boat and larger window.
We waited around a bit and finally got on the boat which takes you to the submarine. The guide on the boat was hilarious (can't remember his name) and made the right so entertaining that we had no doubt the submarine tour would be great. The snacks and drinks are overpriced so bring your own.
Once at the submarine, I couldn't believe this was the best option. I thought t was quite small still and we were very close to other people.
The guides were nice but didn't distract from the fact that we barely saw any fishes. One turtle and some fishes here and there and that's it. We were sat on the side that barely had any fishes which was even more disappointing.
Towards the end, I was just glad to get back on the boat and get on with my day.
This was not only a waste of money but most importantly a waste of time.
If you do decide to try your luck, go for the bigger submarine the extra money is worth it just to be sat comfortably.
