“Reasonable price, reasonable accommodation”

We were quite satisfied with the hotel and the service was very good. I agree with the other reviews, ie the concierge had been put up to promoting the 'free' breakfast in the hope of selling timeshare at a new resort, the birds on the balcony and wanted to come in and visit, that free WiFi the our rooms and not just the foyer would have been handy, and that the tour organisers were very good. What we didn't like was the same breakfast every day, and we were there for a couple of weeks; nothing changed at all in that time! Also, although we had a microwave, there was an incomplete coffee machine and when we asked for a kettle because we like to make tea, we were told sorry but none.

This resort is nice but it is very simple. The rooms do not have mini bar and my safe didn't work. The staff were average at the front desk and the bell desk didn't help me at all while I stayed there.

However the trip orangiser was fantastic and the day spa was the best and the cheapest.

If you want luxury and dont mind spending more I would suggest the outrigger or surfrider where my family stayed.

Located one block back from the beach, we had good views of the surf and part of the beach – quite adequate for us. We could also see Diamond Head clearly from our balcony. One evening, we heard Hawaiian music wafting up from the beach and so went down while it was still light to enjoy what is a regular traditional performance by a cultural group. Thoroughly enjoyable and we learned a bit as well.

It was a good hotel – friendly staff, enjoyable breakfast, comfortable room and white doves that greet you on the balcony. But don’t leave your balcony door open for too long, as the doves will join you in your room! Free WiFi only available in the foyer. It would be nice to have it free in the rooms.

Room Tip: Rooms higher in the hotel on the Pearl Harbour end have better views of the beach/surf.

Brilliant hotel located 1 block across the beach, within 5 minutes of the international market and 10 minutes of major shops. Bus stops are also located within a block beach side, 2 blocks mountain side. Major activity pick up point is across the road. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel was clean at all times. All in all, it was a perfect combination and will most definitely stay there again on our next trip back.

We stayed for four nights, before and after our cruise. The rooms were fairly clean and comfortable and as they were on the 12th floor, well away from the noisy street. The bathrooms were a bit dated as was the general décor. The hotel was in a convenient location for shops and the beach. Staff were helpful especially the concierge, Rachelle, who recommended good restaurants, and so was the bell captain who organised our luggage when we were coming and going from the hotel and who helped us to track down our tardy shuttle bus to the cruise port.
The expensive breakfast was average, but service was friendly

Room Tip: The higher floors offer less traffic noise.

Other trip-advisors are correct; this is a great value in Honolulu. Not a 5-star hotel, but for around$165 per nite (plus parking/tax) it was a real bargain. The entrance is "open" (as are most Honolulu hotels), rooms clean and very comfortable, a mediocre breakfast restaurant (which is typical) and a Korean BBQ resturant which I would highly recommend (not gourmet food, but we had lots of fun cooking our own food at our table; but this option is only offered for evening dining). Is in a great location; 1-block from Waikiki Beach,, a 2-3 block walk to Hy's Steakhouse (a must!), and shopping all around. The hotel also has a small pool, spa/massage, and a couple of small shops. Would most definately stay here again on next trip to Honolulu. Highly recommended.

My family & friends group stayed at the Waikiki Resort Hotel before and after our Hawaiian cruise. The first night my husband and I were on the 9th floor and I could hear music and people yelling until around midnight, but after that it was fairly quiet. We could see a small strip of beach from our balcony. After the cruise our room was on the 14th floor and it was much quieter. The balcony was on the city side but we could see the mountains in the distance.

We didn't have a car so I'm glad the hotel was within walking distance of food and shopping. The same short walk (about a block or two) gets you to the beach.

The staff was friendly and check-in was swift. We left our bags with the bell captain until we left for the ship and the airport, which was convenient. Many thanks to him and his staff.

Our room was clean, comfortable, and affordable; great for our pre- and post-cruise needs. I would stay at this hotel again for that purpose. Overall it was a positive experience and I'm glad we chose the Waikiki Resort.

Room Tip: Rooms on higher floors offer better views and are quieter.
