“Some of the Best Sushi Ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

My husband and I wanted to locate a decent sushi place near our hotel. After reading a few mixed reviews we gave Furusato a try- we are both happy we did. We still talk about how great the sushi was. We had a mix of sashimi and a roll with spicy tuna on top. It was great for a small dinner. They do out a 15% grat on the bill, which we did not mind because we tip most places anyway, It is small, but you can always make a quick call to see if there are tables available. The night we went there was plenty. While we were eating I felt bad for the people who read the menu posted at the door and kept walking... they had no idea the delicious meal they were missing!

“Sushi But”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

We saw some good reviews so we gave a try. It's a very small restaurant and limit seating.
The table are very tight with each other. We sat in the middle of the row and the chair are not comfortable (No back support). Well, we're coming for the food right. We ordered some sashimi and sushi and it's good. We also ordered some hot items. The udon are tasted like super market noodle (not good) and the soup are salty. Better stay with the sushi if you want to eat there.
Now, when it came with the bills and it cost like a big restaurant price. Also they will add 15% tips on your bills without asking (We only have 3 persons not 6). If they place a sign or the note on their display menu, it will be up to you to walk in for the foods or not. They just charged you at the end which we feel like it's rip off. They thought you're just a damn tourist. You have no choice to pay that extra 15% which they gave you good service or not.

“Yummy sashimi”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013 via mobile

We enjoyed the chef's recommendation of blue-fin tuna sashimi platter very much! Apart from three thick slices of tuna, there was an assortment of mackerel, sea urchin, abalone, shrimp and squid sashimi - all absolutely fresh n tasty! It's a place to eat good sushi, n not to enjoy a romantic meal :)

“YUM”

The poke bowl and Diamondhead roll were our favorite items on the menu. Wash it down with a draft Kirin...heaven.

“Hard to beat!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2013

We stumbled upon Furusato on our first day in Waikiki and what a find it was. Furusato is situated on Kalakaua Blvd next to the Hyatt Regency, a part of the Pualeilani Atrium Shops. The restaurant is nothing flash to look at, a bit pokey, so much so that you may not venture in. However, if you don't, you will miss the most wonderful traditional and contemporary sushi!

I tried my first dish of poke at Furusato and did not find another to beat it! We enjoyed the food so much that we ventured back a second time. I would recommend any sushi lover visit this wonderful little restaurant; try one of the 'bridges' on the menu.
