“What a one-in-a-"million" find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2012

We were checking out Yelp of Korean eateries while vacationing in Honolulu and came across this gem off the beaten track (just northwest of the Ala Moana Shopping Center, on a side street). Yummmm! Great value and scrumptious food. Not fancy...downright plain...but it's the food that excel! The pictures tell the whole story. I had the kalbi and chicken bulgogi combination BBQ lunch plate, while my wife ordered the kalbi dolsot bi bim bap (she loves the crispy rice from the clay pot). Best kalbi I've had, and we've been to numerous Korean restaurants in the SF Bay Area and Honolulu. The side dishes were good too, as well as the "oversized" gyozas we ordered. They were so good that we ate 2 before I had a chance to snap a picture of them. Their cook-it-yourself BBQ is probably good too...something we might try the next time in the islands. Lots of other stuff on their menu also worth trying.

“No frills atmosphere - great Korean food.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2011 via mobile

Great for those who appreciate good Korean food & don't care what the outside of the building looks like. Went with people who know Korean food & they loved it (I'm no expert). You get a lot of food for the money - an excellent value!

“You'll love the food so much that you'll be planning your next meal here before you finish your first”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2011

If you come to Honolulu on vacation (or you live here), you have to eat at least one meal here. If you eat one meal, most likely you'll be back the next night. It's that good.
The atmosphere is Korean divey - it's located on a side street behind Walmart, but don't let that deter you, the food is really good and itls very inexpensive.
Things to try for Korean food forst-timers: Any of the stone pot rice dishes (watch out the bowl is stone and really hot), Any of the Jun dishes are good (fried meat dish), and if you like cooking at the table (yakiniku style) try the bulgogi. The waitresses are friendly and helpful, if need a suggestion.
For the adventurous, try some Korean Soju (similar to sake), or some rice wine (it's a milky wine).
Enjoy, save money, maybe even stop at Walmart for some cheap souvenirs, you'll love this and could easily eat here every night.

“We love the korean food there!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2010

We usually don't order BBQ here, we go for the entrees as that's what we like in Korean food, and they make the dishes authentic enough, not as Americanized like other places. At least my favorite dishes are closed to taste that I had in Korea. I recommend going there for Korean food. Just too bad that recently they take chicken ginseng soup out of the menu. It's one of my favorites.
So to summarize, we love the Korean food there
