“Nice spot for drinks with ok food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013 via mobile

This was one of the bars closest to our hotel and we ended up here three times for drinks and really enjoyed the atmosphere and some live music. We ate here on our first night and had ribs and coconut shrimps from the outside bar menu, which was ok and a little overpriced. Nonetheless, we went for dining inside the other night and had a more proper eating out experience. There were more choices and the prices even higher. We were aware that these were hawaiian prices but we found that there should be better value for money elsewhere. Service was always flawless anyway and kept us coming back for a drink, although we recommend to try other food options, too. The grill itself is ok for Waikiki standards.

“Fun Times Great Dining!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

Celebrated my wife's birthday with friends at Tiki's last night. Food was plentiful and delicious. had their NY Steak which was to die for. Generous portions for all entrees served. Try the calimari appetizer they do it right at Tiki's.

Probably best value in Waikiki and one of the last places to feature Hawaii kitsch decorations. Luv it!

“Energetic (if slightly kitschy) atmosphere, surprisingly good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

Looking for an informal, reasonably priced dinner meal on our first night of a long weekend in the islands, we came across uniformly good recommendations for Tiki's, so we gave it a try.

Very good energy at reception, though the Disney-like South Pacific theme was just a little over the top...tons of schwag in the restaurant store. But more power to 'em. The slightly kitschy atmosphere was counteracted by pretty darn well executed food. We stayed with steak, but the two (different) cuts we ordered were perfectly cooked and seasoned with a sauce that reminded us ever so slightly of teriyaki with its sweetness, while not at all being excessive. Side dishes were also quite good. On the dessert front, we went with the chocolate fettucine (recommended), and the Kona Coffee dream cake (even more recommended...it was mostly chocolate mousse, with some coffee-infused chocolate cake underneath), and "Hawaii's Most Ridiculously Small Brownie" (we ordered it just to see it, and it was).

Service was friendly, and the one small snafu (vegetable substitution on one dish) was handled with aplomb (our corkage fee was waived). We'd go again...next time with the whole family.
