We are regulars at the two LA locations and have been to Hawaii spot multiple times. As of earlier this year, no more soy sauce at the table, sushi dressed the way chef prefers.
Chef offers omakase western or eastern options. We did one of each.
Tonight, Eastern menu included many new and exotic items, from abalone with abalone liver, sweet shrimp with shrimp brain "miso", squid topped with squid ink paste. Dessert if saki jello was delicate floral was really good.
Loved it. But if you are not open to try new items, stick with the Western menu and you must be ok with Omakase (aka chef's choice).
