“Beautiful grounds in a beautiful place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

The views are stunning all around. The front desk is friendly and helpful. The breakfast in the AM is not much to be desired but sufficient for cereal, hard boiled eggs and a danish. Pool area is nice. It's gated/secured. Going on and off the island can be a bit of a headache if you are not military. You will need to get a pass and drive to another location to take care of this. The rooms were in excellent condition and very cozy. We had a second room that had air conditioner problems all week and it was never corrected, so that was unfortunate. Otherwise, an overall great experience.

We were treated like royalty, the staff was Super Helpful & so hospitable, the room was outstanding and had everything we were looking for. They even suggested 2 excellent places to eat. The breakfast buffet was OK, but nothing special.

$99 doesn't usually get you much on oahu but your $99 will be well spent here. My wife and I just arrived on May 1st and are staying here until we find a house. We have two large labs so it will probably take some time. Our room is very spacious and we have a nice little kitchenette nook area with a full fridge and two burber stove. It is a little cramped for cooking and trying to use counterspace but you can cook some meals instead of spending all of your money and time eating out. Staff is extremely friendly and room is very clean. If you have pets this is probably the best bet on island unless you want to kennel your pets, we didn't. They even have a nice dogpark across the street from the hotel so you can wear them out.

What a great place to stay while in Hawaii and surrounded by history !! The Navy Lodge located on Ford Island in Pearl Harbor. Only you must be military, active or retired and have a military I.D. Card. One of the benifits for serving your country. The room was larger then some of higher priced hotels I have stayed in. Had (2) queen sized beds w/kitchenet and a bathroom you had room to move around in plus door to toilet / shower area ( which most women would like). Most important was that the whole lodge area was very clean-inside and out. The lodge sits on a beautiful landscaped area of the island with such outstanding colorful flowers and trees. A new addition to this lodge is the new continental breakfast area which has coffee, milk and orange juice, cereal, bagels and muffins. We were expecially happy with ( Mel) she took great pride to keep food area clean/full and was very friendly with the guests.Mike at the front desk was very friendly and helpful with directions. Also had a nice pool area which we did not use but looked like it would be a relaxing way to end the day. We spent a good part of a day just on the island viewing USS Arizona, Missouri, and on the far side of the lodge the remains of the Utah .My husband enjoyed the aviation museum also close by on the island. A friend told us of this lodge that he and his family had stayed in and we are so happy that he did. If ever in Hawaii again we would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms on upper floors have a much better city skyline view. We had a nice view but on the first floo...

Been to the Navy Lodge Hawaii at Pearl Harbor several times as a weekend getaway. A fabulous alternative to Waikiki if you're looking for some peace and quiet yet still close enough to a major mall and downtown.

Location: Located on Ford Island. Must be military (active, reserve,or retired), DoD civilian or family member.

There are several buildings to the Navy Lodge. On one occassion, my room was in an adjacent building which was a short walk from the main building. The building looked pretty standard. Room was nice and clean with a queen size bed and a kitchnette. Kitchenette had pots, pans silverware, plates, cups, dish towels but no dish soap. No big deal, there is a little store in the main lobby area which probably would have the soap and sponge. There is also a coffemaker, microwave and mini-refrigerator. Rooms have air conditioning, internet, tv and clock. Most recent stay, I was able to stay in the main building just to the left side of the main reception area on the first floor facing the harbor. The outside of the building reminded me of the old plantation architecture during the WWII. I found my room however, had a difficult time opening the door. Literally had to put my foot and weight into the door before it would budge open. I'm thinking the door had expanded being exposed to the water of the harbor. The doors and windows in the front of the room had wooden slates instead of curtains or shades which fit right in with the old plantation veranda look. We I got the door to open I was pleasantly surprised with how big my room was. The kitchenette was to the left as was the bathroom but the room itself was quite large with 2 queen size beds with a little table and the tv on a stand. Directly in front of me were huge windows that faced the inside of the lodge which is landscaped with flowers and the swimming pool is also located on the inside of lodge. Just beautiful. The wooden slates in the front of the room also allowed me to adjust to allow light into the room when needed. It was quite relaxing and serene. In the front patio area leading to the room there were small round patio tables and chairs to enjoy the surroundings if one so chose to. The only downside to the room was the door was extremely difficult to open and shut..Everyone in the building knew when you coming in or leaving because all the noise trying to get in or out.

The reception area is nice and large with seating and is open air allowing the breeze to come through. Also on the outside veranda area, there is seating to enjoy the harbor. In the outside court area there is a small garden area with a fountain, chairs to sit as well as small meeting rooms. There is a walkway connecting to the other buildings and to the swimming pool. The reception area can get a little busy, but overall the staff where extremely accommodating.

Lots of parking in front and on the backside of the lodge where the other building is located.

Navy Lodge Hawaii is a short drive to: Navy Exchange Mall at Pearl Harbor, Tripler Hospital, Fitness Center on Pearl Harbor, Hickam Beach, Commissary, and within walking distance to the Marina and Golf Course and Aloha Stadium for the flea markets (driving might be a better idea). Also located near by are the Arizonal Memorial, the USS Missouri and the Pacific Air Museum.

Navy Lodge Hawaii is approximately 15 minutes from Honolulu International Airport (HNL). Note: a pass may be require to gain access across the Ford Island Bridge. Pass may be obtained at the Hickam main gate or Pearl Harbor main gate (Nimitz).

The closest mall is about 15 mins away (Pearlridge Mall) with eateries and shops. About 20 minutes to downtown area where there are eateries, theatres, bars, galleries, etc.

Overall, a fabulous little gem..in the middle of paradise.

It's a quaint inn in the heart of Ford Island. There are many of the memorials right next to it, the Arizona, Missouri and Utah. Also the aviation museum is next to it. The rooms are clean with kitchenettes and a pool is on site. Must be active, retired or associated with the military, DOD, etc.

Located on Ford Island, the Navy Lodge is surrounded by history. Monuments for the USS Utah and the USS Oklahoma are just a brief walk away. The USS Missouri and the Pacific Aviation Museum are also within walking distance. Though you can see the USS Arizona Memorial from the island, you need to cross the bridge to catch a ferry to the memorial.

The rooms in the lodge have kitchenettes, allowing for cooking small meals. A take-and-go breakfast of bagels, cream cheese, granola bars and water bottles are available each morning... as is coffee. If you don't want to walk to the lobby, the rooms have coffee makers in them with the same brand of coffee available.

The bathrooms have the curved shower rods, allowing for a more spacious feel.

The beds are not too firm, nor too soft and are stocked with pillows (8 total on the 2 queen beds in my room). The rooms also have decent sized flat screen TVs.

You can keep your room air conditioned or turn it off and sleep with the windows open.

Just about the only thing I'd change is the availability of WiFi. Though wired connections are available in each room, free WiFi is only provided in the lobby and in the internet cafe of the second building.

The pool is beautiful. You won't be swimming laps in it, but it's a perfect place to sun yourself and just chill with the kids... or your friends.
