“If you are an art buff, go here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

We really enjoyed this place. We saw the work of a local artist, LeoHone at a Waikiki gallery and it got us wanting more art. It lead us here and we were glad we went. Lots to see. They have a little place to eat there too.

“Interesting display of Native and Contemperary Art”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

Not large, but all the art is by native Hawaiians on mainlanders who have moved to Hawaii. Worth a visit especially if you have a rainy day like we did.

“Small but nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2012

I really enjoyed this museum. I can't put my finger on any particular exhibits that really "made" the deal for me, it was the overall experience that I enjoyed. It was relaxing, and interesting, and a good atmosphere, and beautiful works of art.

“The place is bigger than it looks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012

This building or series of buildings is impressive since it looks much smaller from the outside. The exhibits are mainly contemporary and well curated. We saw one on tattoos and its role in Hawaiian culture and another on service people in Afghanistan and Iraq. I'm so glad we went. Great rainy day activity.
