We stayed here for five nights as part of a larger Hawaii honeymoon. The location is excellent, being on a quiet side road off Kalakaua Ave (the main road) with its shops, bars and restaurants, and about a 5-miunte walk from the beach.
The hotel is quite small, meaning that you get the personal touch from the very friendly and helpful staff. We were surprised and pleased to find a welcome gift in the room for our honeymoon – a bottle of rum and mai tai mixer. The rooms are on the small side (although I believe this is common to all Waikiki hotels – much like New York), but reasonably well appointed and we had a superb balcony overlooking the street. Considering how busy Waikiki is, we had no issues with street noise. The WiFi is free and reliable. Coffee and free lemonade in lobby and free beach towels are a nice touch.
Although we appreciate that Waikiki is an expensive place to park, we thought that $28 per night is somewhat steep. Despite this, we had a great stay and if we are ever to travel the 7,200 miles to Waikiki again, then we will consider staying here. Mahalo.
