“Lovely Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2013 via mobile

We stayed at the Shoreline for 6 nights and loved every minute! As soon as we arrived the staff were lovely and asked about our journey and if we needed anything.

Yes the rooms are a bit small but you have everything you need including a fridge and are clean. The cleaners and all the staff were really nice . There is air con in the room and a safe.

Great location minutes from the beach and the main restaurants. For women there's a great clothes shop opposite called local fever - great prices and a cheap nail bar around the corner.

Hawaii wasn't what we expected as we hadn't imagined how busy it would be but the shoreline was just close enough to the action without feeling over crowded.

There's a small pool on the roof - great for a tan which can be accessed by floor 14!

Just a lovely hotel for a trip of a lifetime!

I stayed here for a week because I was in town for a conference in another hotel about 1 block away. Since the other hotel was booked up , I decided to try a Joie de Vivre hotel: Shoreline.

My stay has been great from the beginning to the end of my stay here. It is located on a quieter street without the crowd and within walking distance to lots of known stores ex. ABC stores, Foodland, Vintage Island Coffee, Honolulu cookie company, malls

The receptionist was friendly and helpful. They gave me a map of Waikiki with bus stops/lines to attractions.the lobby always have lemon water, coffee and cups.
The pool is located on the roof which is accessible with the stairs near the elevator.

The room is kept very clean. Housekeeping came around the same time everyday so I can predict when I can be back. The AC is a bit noisy but didn't bother me much.

I will definitely stay here again! Mahalo.

We can't fault our stay, it was everything we hoped for and more, clean fresh, perfect location, helpful staff.
We really liked the modern 50s retro interior design.
Everything we needed was in the room,
The staff helped us with all our questions very well,
Only 5 minutes walk to the beach
Right in the center of shops and restaurants.

Room Tip: I think all are great

We stayed here from a Wednesday - Sunday for our honeymoon and the people who helped us were amazing. From Valet to front desk, people were friendly and helpful, and our room was cozy, but clean and new, so comfortable all around. We had our toothpaste confiscated at the airport because the wife forget about the size, so front desk had someone bring toothpaste for us right away. The location was 2 blocks away from Waikiki, with an ABC store right across the street along with a small spam store right downstairs that was delicious. For the deal we got, it was definitely worth it, and I would highly recommend anyone who comes to visit.

Room 526 was big enough with a queen size bed from our perspective, i suppose the size is relative to from where you come and how long you plan to spend in the room. The bed was very comfortable, and a large TV, a microwave, a small fridge and a coffee machine offered all the comforts we needed.

Free WiFi access topped it off, and services like Viber on my PC was usable to chat to those at home.

Lots of eating places nearby in Kulia Rd, and the bus stop is right there at the intersection with Seaside as well. The 4 day bus pass is well worth the $25 per person, but It is going up to $35 I believe, still worth it though. Buses 8, 19 and 20 takes you to Ala Moana (Walmart is on the land side a block up), 20 goes to Pearl Harbor. Bus 13 takes you the other way past the golf course to Safeway if you want to do some grocery shopping.

Shopping for end-of-line brand clothing bargains at Ross across the road was a daily thing for my wife.

Room Tip: If possible get a room as high as possible to avoid street noise. We were on the 5th floor and it wa...

We stayed here for just one night on our way to Maui. The room was on 2nd floor facing the street which was ok for one night. Room spacey and functional with fridge, coffee/tea maker and micro. Clean but a bit worn. Free wifi incl. in the room. The front desk staff welcoming and helpful.

Aloha Per C!

It was very nice of you to take the time to post your comments on TripAdvisor. I certainly appreciate the feedback. I am happy to hear that you enjoyed our amenities. I will personally inspect all of the rooms on the 2nd floor and follow-up with our maintenance team to address any issues. All of our rooms were just renovated earlier this year, so it concerns me that you felt your room was a bit worn. I will look into it right away! Overall, I hope you had an amazing Hawaii vacation and I hope to welcome you back to the Shoreline again in the future.

The hotel is nice and the rooms are clean but small.
No or just a little noise from the street, but there was more noise from the other guests in the room next door.
Only valet parking available which increases the expenses.
The restaurants on the main street are often full and it is not uncommon to wait 1h+ for a table. Go 1-2 streets back and you'll find nice little restaurants which are far better than these chain restaurants. Also cheaper and better.

Aloha TheKringel!

It sounds like you were navigating the streets of Waikiki like a local! Thanks for all of your suggestions. I can imagine many future travelers will find your comments very helpful! I am happy to hear that you had a pleasant visit with us. Your point about valet parking is a very common question that we get so thanks for mentioning it. We have limited valet parking available at the Shoreline for $26 per night. If we run out of space in our garage, we have a relationship with the garage in the office building across the street. Normally, they do not allow overnight parking, but they have a special arrangement for our guests to park for $24 per night with a voucher from the hotel. There are other self-park options available, but this is one of the more convenient options.

Thanks again for the recommendations! I hope to see you again soon.
