“If you would like to feel as if you are walking through Jurassic Park, this is the place....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2014

This place is relatively close to Waikiki and a world away in terms of its topography. You are in the rain forest and it is lush, green and tropical. This is a property where you have to do the exploring; it is not as formal as a botanical garden and you have to wander to explore the nooks and crannies; be prepared for it to be wet and a little muddy. Enjoy the sounds of the birds, the towering plants and trees and all the amazing flowers in bloom.

“Paradise just a few minutes drive from Waikiki”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2014

When you've had enough of the traffic & congestion of Honolulu/Waikiki drive up Manoa Valley to see what a rainforest looks & feels like. Expect some rain but they do have umbrellas to borrow & bug repellant if it's mosquito time. It's a beautiful place & for a $5.00 donation you could easily spend an entire leisurely day strolling through the different areas. Cockatoos make their presence known by their loud calls & can be seen flying from tree to tree.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2014

From around the world of tropical climes these plants and trees have been collected and planted in the deep tropical forrest of Manoa. After 50-100 years the have matured and thrived. They are beautiiful and educate you about tropical horticulture.

The gardens were fantastic, so many beautiful flowers and plants. The hike to the fall was well worth the view. It is a short hike so make sure to bring water

“Beautiful Botanic Garden... off the beaten path”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2014

One of our favorite parts of our first trip to Oahu. Beautiful trails full of amazing plants and flowers. An easy hike to the falls. Many native plants and birds - -a family of wild cockatoo's were a special treat to see. The staff and volunteers were very helpful in pointing us to the best trails to check out. We spent a few hours - could have easily made it a full day.
No entrance fee, but donations are suggested.
