“Aloha Bus/Grayline: South Shore Sea Cliffs Adventure Tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

After a fantastic tour in 2012, on Feb 21, 2013 I purchased another hop-on hop-off pass for 4. In May 2013 I received notification that the tour options had changed to include a tour of the south shore . . .
I called in our reservation and we went on the tour 6/12/2013 and it was GREAT! The views were even better from the top deck. We were given 2 chances to off load and take pictures. And when we arrived at Sea Life Park we were treated to an unexpected delicious hot meal (chicken, corn, rice) & large drink of our choice. And then we were given ample time to enjoy the facilities.

A most deserved Mahalo to our driver, Shelly and to our well informed guide, Clem!! They were Terrific! We enjoyed the trip so much that we look forward to going again in the future!

“FRUSTRATED”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

We purchased our tickets for the Aloha Bus back in January through groupon for our trip in May. When we arrived to Honolulu in May and waited for the Aloha Bus, which never came, we learned that they are no longer in service. Ok, so you couldn't contact us and let us know. This was how we were getting to several of our excursions...frustrating. We ended up buying tickets for the Waikiki Trolley, which was more money, taking taxi's, which again more money, and THEBUS, which was laughable. No worries though, we were in beautiful Hawaii. We did receive a full refund once I called groupon & complaining.

“GOOD BY DAY ?? BY NIGHT”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

We decided to purchase the 4 day Aloha Bus pass while in HI. I would say it is well worth the money and an easy way to get around and see Honolulu. We bought ours on line from groupon. They were more than glad to take it. The buses usually had only a few people on them which made you feel like you had your own service. It is nice to be able to get on and off and not worry about parking and cabs. There are all kinds of bus groups, we like this because of the open top. We had fun looking out over everything. The staff was really wonderful and added a lot of local help to make our stay more fun. They have three routes taking you around the main tourist area. We were picked up at the Hilton Village. You only need to get on one in the area then transfer to the one you want. One of the nice things is you can get off and back on another bus in 20 most of the time. The reason for the lower rating is at night the schedule seems to become very loose. On the two times we used it late we had to wait over 40 minutes. We called them they said the bus would be there any minutes. They seem to not have any idea where the bus was. Had they simple given us a real time we would have either accepted it or taken a cab. Once they picked us up we cut through street trying to get caught up on time because they were closing the run at 8:00 PM. My suggestion is Use it by day and question it by night.

“3 STRIKES, YOU ARE OUT!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

Used this service on 3 separate occasions, within a 3 month period. No narration or tour of any kind, never on time for scheduled pick ups and drop offs, didn't stop at scheduled stops while on route, and was actually smacked in the head with a tree limb because we were not warned when approaching low-lying branches! Last time was absolutely the LAST TIME! We waited over an hour for pick up at Pearl Harbor, where the bus never came by. Made our way to Ala Moana Center by getting family to come back and get us, then drive us downtown. After an hour at the mall, we waited over 40 minutes for a bus to Waikiki (supposed to come every 15-20 mins). Another hour wait at the Duke Statue because 2 buses were broken down and one was offline. Finally got on a bus to Diamond Head, only to have the driver fly right by the Zoo and Aquarium where we were supposed to get off for lunch. Went back around again, entire loop to get off at Zoo. After lunch, no bus came for 30 minutes, so we walked back to Waikiki for a few hours. Went back to the Duke Statue to catch a bus to Ala Moana and were refused by 2 drivers because they 'offline'. Another hour later, we were taken to Ala Moana Center and dropped off at 3:30PM. We were told we needed to catch the 'last' bus to Pearl Harbor at 4:30. So, we waited and waited. Several buses came by, but none of them were going to Pearl Harbor. We finally asked one of the drivers to check on the PH route. At 4:20, she informed us the PH loop was cancelled because we were the only 2 passengers and the remaining buses were offline. She said the last bus to PH had left at 4PM, which made no sense because we had been sitting there since 3:30 and every bus driver said they were not going to PH. Called to complain and received less than empathetic response. The Aloha Bus is anything but.

“Best value transport we found”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013 via mobile

We found the aloha bus late in our visit, if you are in waikiki for a few days or more then the cost of the top package is well worth it!
It basically becomes a hop on hop off transport to the major places you need to visit including pearl Harbour, ala moana, all over waikiki and a nice little tour of diamond head!

We wish we found this earlier, we used "the bus" public transport which was very inconvenient and didnt run on weekends frequently!
