“Happy Comfort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

My recent business stay in Honolulu required a three night stay at the Courtyard in Waikiki. I found it very nice and would stay again.

The hotel is situated closer to the canal but only a few blocks to walk to Waikiki Beach. The surrounding neighborhood offered a variety of shopping, dining and other services. Parking is valet only and expensive.

The room I was assigned was on the 14th floor and far above the noise that bothered some of my colleagues on lower floors. The room was spacious, provided a fridge, microwave and small sink in the main area with a small desk/workstation and PLENTY of drawer and closet space. The bathroom was large but did not have a tub and the vanity counter was fairly small. The bed was very comfortable and I enjoyed the very large flat screen television. A small lanai provided a couple of chairs and a little table. The outdoor area provided a nice view of the pool and a lot of privacy from neighboring lanais.

The lobby and social areas of the hotel were nicely arranged, with many sliding doors that brought the outdoors in. The business center was well equipped with both PC and MAC stations and several printers.

Happy hour at the bar seemed popular each night with many great drinks from $4-$5

Overall I found the staff extremely helpful, the hotel clean and comfortable and the neighborhood well situated for both business and touring. This is NOT the hotel to stay at if you are expecting a water view.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor room to avoid street noise

It was ideal for price & location. Close walk to main strip and bus pick up stand. Staff were very accommodating, they even gave us a bath pack for our 1yr old son. House keepers were friendly and always made conversation as we past. They have a freezer down by the pool stocked with icy pops free for you to enjoy, our kids loved it! Would highly recommend this place again via My Hawaii! I am looking forward to our next trip with My Holiday!!

Room Tip: Stay at the main hotel on Royal Hawaiian Ave.

We arrived two day early and they had a place open for us to stay, booked thru hotel tonight, for an awesome deal and a fair room for the price!
The room is nice and clean, kind of small and it was only 2 of us. The bed was comfortable and the balcony is nice, a little sad we were near the street and we could hear all the hussle bussle right out side. They have a cute little bar area, quant pool, and right next to an IHop. Just all around great!!

Excellent Marriott Hotel in Waikiki on Kuhio and Royal Hawaiian streets. Comfortable beds, spacious. Only problem is cost for parking - cost more per day than to rent the car. Valet service was friendly and quick. Nice pool. Convenient to Royal Hawaiian section of Waikiki.

Room Tip: Ask for a high level room - mountain side is fine - morning sun.

We spent 10 nights at the hotel in the older, smaller building with 2 separate beds, which we requested. The room was always very clean and the staff were fantastic. A very short walk to the main shopping Waikiki area and on the bus route to the large shopping centre, Ala Moana.

Stayed here for two nights as part of a get-away, relaxing Hawaiian vacation. If relaxing is mostly what you want, take a hint and skip Honolulu. The hotel itself is a standard Courtyard, but I got a great rate at the last minute. It's about three or four blocks from the beach, and there are no "ocean views" here. The bed was really comfortable. There was a balcony towards the street, and yes it was noisy on Saturday night (but I think most places in downtown Honolulu are a bit noisy). The room was on the smaller side by American standards, but average size in other parts of the world. The pool was nice, but as others said, it's not the best place to work on your tan. I didn't try to restaurant or work out room, but both looked like they were popular. I went to Starbucks for breakfast, and, thanks to tips on here. tried the really great Thai restaurant across the street (cheap and great food). The staff are all friendly and excellent, and will steer you in the right direction for any and all of your concerns. It's close to the higher end shopping opportunities and dining and clubs are also close by. If you are staying on your way to other islands or other parts of Oahu, then I would recommend it. I feel for people who stay in Honolulu their whole vacation thinking they have had the "Hawaiian" experience.

Room Tip: The rooms on the street are probably louder than other rooms, but the balcony is a nice option.
