I really dont want to put this place down because after everything got sorted out we had a lovely stay.
It is a lovely hotel, (for the better part) clean, in a great area with shops all around and just a 10 minute walk to the beach, which is amazing.
The pool area is lovely and clean, although kids need to be supervised which half the time their parents are at the bar. Which i guess isnt the hotels fault more the parents.
I never used the small market behind reception but my sister did and said it was ok, nothing to write home about.
Because we had problems we were given a voucher for breakfast which we used on our last day, it took forever for the food to be served to us. The girl told us it was because of the pancakes, yet others around us got pancakes and either sat down around the same time or after us got theirs first. We never really ate in the restaurant at night, but got a pizza out of it to take away it way alright very herbie.
We were sat at the pool one day when a girl staying explained to us that the tower across the way which was still part of the hotel got bad reviews on trip advisor, and we can agree too.
We arrived early and working in a hotel myself i know rooms will not be ready, i asked that the whole group be put on the same floor, (remember still early to move others around.) That was goin to be a problem the hotel was fully booked but they would see what they could do. Which was nothing.
Myself, Mother and Aunt where put in the tower across from reception, My Sister and Boyfriend on the 2nd floor in the main hotel building and my other Aunts put on 3rd floor of main hotel.
My Sisters room was clean but had hair in the shower plug, my other Aunts had no complaints only we were in another building.
At first glance our room was lovely and had loads of space, it was obvious someone had to sleep on the sofa bed. So i pulled it out, (again working in housekeeping i know guests like to help by putting things away for you). That is what must of happened here because the sofa was still made complete with hair and food.
Just as we discovered this my Sister came to see our room, she walks over to me not to alarm our Mum or Aunt, WE HAD AN ANTS NEST IN THE KITCHEN AREA, and they were all over the work top coming in from the airvent going outside.
We called reception again being fully booked they may have trouble moving us, they would send someone to change the sheets and see the the ANTS. We told them we were going to go for a walk around and see the area while this was being dealt with, on our return some time later nothing had been done. I called reception complaining nothing had been done and wanted room moved, we were told we would be moved tomorrow, and then someone came to clean the room. Dont ask me what she used to clean the ants away but for 2 days after i was still coughing from whatever it was. Now we had plans for the next day and were being picked up early in the morning, so we were not going to be able to deal with this the next morning. So we took all our bags left them in our other familys rooms, tried to sleep, with the feeling of critters on us.(hell we all know when you talk about bugs you feel like they are on you, when they aren't)
Went the next morning to Pearl Harbour, on our return receptions either was new or didn't know ANYTHING about our room move.
But another girl came to our rescue and we were moved to the main hotel building, on the 3rd floor. Room was clean had a bath as well as shower, and yes maybe it needed a like of paint but holiday was perfect from here on,
It is a pitty that this happened, because we had a lovely time after. We got to know the staff who are really nice, and like i said at the start i didn't want to complain because we did end up having a great time. I think you all need to know, because we are talking about going back to Hawaii just we will not be staying at this hotel.
Main hotel building, it seems the tower across the way gets neglected in the cleaning department
