“Great hotel! great location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2014

The hotel is very big and beautiful. Although it had no breakfast included, there are a coffe place and a great market in the hotel to buy breakfast and other things.
The hotel charges 30$ per room per day as service, and it totally worth it: paying this charge we had free wifi in all the hotel, 60 minutes of free calls (domestic and international!!!) per day and more stuff.
The hotel has great location, and the rooms are very comfortable. The rooms with parcial view of the ocean had great view! It also has a garage and it was free for us.

Good location within walking distance of lots of things to see and do. The Kuhio Beach Grill restaurant in the resort buffet that we had one night was great. As for the rest we weren't too impressed. Got to resort at 1pm but check-in time is not till 3pm and even though we had two young children and had just got there after 16 hours travelling we weren't allowed to check-in early. Have to pay a mandatory $30 per night resort fee on top of room cost which I don't understand why they don't just add it into room price. Beds are only standard double bed size. Bathroom was very small, shower head missing a piece that holds it at an angle so it doesn't shoot water straight out which we told them about but they said nothing was wrong with it. Hallways and rooms are dated and need a good carpet cleaning and paint as stains on carpet everywhere and paint peeling and chipping off in lots of places. Lobby and pool areas look keep up to date but the rest of the place is lacking. Have stayed in much better for a lot less money.

Aloha,

Thank you for your recent review, the associates at the Waikiki Beach Marriott take a tremendous amount of pride in the product, service, and value that they provide to all of our customers. I apologize that we were not able to completely satisfy you during your stay. The hotel rooms and corridors are currently in the processing of being redone and will be completed at the end of this year. I hope that we will get the opportunity in the future to welcome you and your family back.

Clean great location. Room was outdated and in need of modernization. Paid way more than it was worth. If you had a late flight out they wanted 90 dollars to use a room to shower after a day at the beach. Parking across the street was half the price thanks trip advisor for that tip! Stayed a few days later after returning from the north shore at another hotel across the street which was very modern, cheaper, clean and with comp breakfast and allowed us free use of a room to shower before our red eye flight.

Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa is a great place for the following reasons:

#Beachfront property.
#close to Zoo,Aquarium and Diamond Head.
#Friendly staff.
#Rooms are large and spacious also plenty of room on the balcony.
#clean bathrooms and most comfy bed i'v slept in while in a hotel.
#shops and restaurants close by including a convenience store onsite.
#pineapple infused water in the lobby.(really refreshing after a long walk)
#free onsite dvd/bluray rentals.

over all this hotel is a great place to stay because it caters to any need you have. Be it just a bed to sleep in while staying in Waikiki or when you feel like watching a few blu-rays and beers on the balcony.it is well suited to family's and those who would like a quiet stay in Waikiki

Only downside was that food from the onsite restaurants and room service were overpriced but plenty of options to eat if you don't mind leaving the hotel.

Room Tip: we were on the 15th floor in a partial ocean view..while we were happy with the view. rooms higher w...

1. Great location. Beach front property. Walking distance almost from everywhere.
2. Several dining options. You won't have trouble trying to find where to eat.
3. ABC store on site. You will find almost everything.
4. Make sure you get a beach front balcony or at least facing west, so you will be able to see the sunset.
5. Pool area is the only area a didn't like. Go to the beach or somewhere else... Poor decoration, setting, music, drinks, etc.
6. Try the circle island tour before you do anything else. You will get a good idea of where to go.
7. Try the catamaran dinner cruise. It's outstanding!
8. Luau is a must.
9. Don't waste your money in a welcome lei at the airport. It's not worth it. You can buy leis later.

If you go to north shore, don't expect huge waves unless is november or december....

Had a blast in Waikiki!!! My wife and I will never forget the trip.

Mahalo Waikiki!

Room Tip: Beach front. Or balcony facing west (sunset view).

We stayed in Waikiki for 2 nights to live the touristic vibe before heading on the North Shore for 5 days. I am glad we did that. We could have stayed a couple more to see Diamond Head and Pearl harbour. We decided to come back from the NS to do these attractions instead. I think Waikiki can be seen in 3 days.

The Marriott is nicely located. Staff was very helpful and kindly upgraded us to a 3 bedroom accomodation. There are 2 warm pools, and the gym is definetly above average, on of the best I have seen in the US so far. The Internet is quite slow. But free. Rooms are as expectedbut beds were too soft for my taste. Hotel is quite big with shops and restaurants and a convenience store.

The resort fees are a joke, and when added to valet parking of $37, it jacks the price by $67+ tax per day. And you don't get the same amount of extras in return. But they mostly all charge it here, like in Vegas.

I recommend to stay here if you are a Marriott fan. If not, shop around for the price. I was here using my points.

Everyone here is absolutely super friendly- from check-in to check-out. Our room had an amazing view of the ocean and Waikiki on the non-Diamondhead side. Bus stop and shops attached are so convenient- the ABC store especially. Their Moana Terrace is a great way to wind down the night with live music and Mai Tais, too.
