“Wow - loved it!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

Have just returned home from a fantastic 6 night stay at the Park Shore - what a find!!!
We have two young children who love swimming so I booked a room on the Pool Deck, this location was ideal for us - we just opened the door & there was the pool, no lugging towels etc downstairs :) I also found it a great pool for kids as it has a long step & good sized shallow end - buy a couple of floats from the ABC store in the lobby & your children will have tonnes of fun.

The room size was fine for the four of us, had modern furnishings & was kept very clean. The coffee in the lobby of a morning & lovely juice throughout the day was a nice touch & very welcome. It was great to have an ABC store attached to the hotel & we also enjoyed a lovely breakfast at Lulu's on the 2nd floor. We loved being at that end of Waikiki - the beach across the road wasn't totally crowded & it really isn't that far to walk to the centre of Waikiki (even with kids) plus the trolley stop is just around the corner.

We really enjoyed our stay & would book the Park Shore again in a heartbeat - I booked this hotel purely because of the rave reviews on here & am now happy to say I can add my own too.

Considering the location and the price, you won't be sorry for choosing the Park Shore Hotel. Be sure to ask for an upper floor, corner room for the best view of the water and the beach. The hotel is quiet at night and the beds are super comfortable. All employees are extremely helpful, courteous and professional and the location is great if you don't mind walking the length of Waikiki beach and checking out every hotel and bar along the way. Suuuuuuuuuper!!!

Room Tip: Top floors, corner .... for best water views!

If you want an ocean view without the price tag this is the place to stay. Be sure and request an "Ocean Front" room, the higher the floor the better. Many hotels in Waikiki are very ambiguous as to what constitutes an ocean view, so be careful.
Slightly above average sized bathroom, bath with shower over. Room size a bit above average with a good sized balcony (lanai). Good air conditioning. Clean.
Reception staff very good. Good location adjacent the zoo, easy walk to shops and just across the road from the beach.
The Park Shore is not a flash hotel but at its price point it represents exceptional value for money, particularly if you are after an ocean view over Waikiki Beach.

Room Tip: Get the corner room of the "ocean front" rooms. The room number will end in "24"...

Terrific location directly across from Waikiki Beach and next to Honolulu Zoo and city parks. Very clean room. Beautiful sunsets. Much to do and see. Great restaurants. Diamond Head in the background too. Loved convenience of "ABC" store in hotel for snacks, t-shirts etc.. Great coffee too. The room's location faced another bldg so only able to see city view by looking left on balcony, ocean view would be much prettier. Coffee avail in room as well as daily newspaper. Canceled rental car because THE BUS, was $2.50 and just across the street from hotel and took us to everywhere.

Room Tip: Smaller room but very clean and updated.

Just stayed a week at the Park Shore. Check in was a breeze, I had requested 2 rooms that were close to each other prior to arriving and was given 2 rooms side by side on the 17th floor. Our view was that of another hotel and their balconies so the curtains were closed most of the time. Not sure what room we booked, I just took what they had on their website as this was a very busy week in Honolulu and many hotels were sold out.

The rooms are clean but definitely on the small side. I'm usually used to at least having a desk and chair to do some work on the computer. The AC units work well and cool the room in seconds since the room is not large but they do run a little on the loud side when the fan kicks on. You'll be watching tv at normal volume and when the AC kicks on, you will have to turn the volume up.

One thing that I noticed and mentioned to Scott the manager is that it seems that the room doors all have a lot of play in them once their closed. Every time someone on your floor closes their door, you will here a loud slam which can be annoying. I think a .10 piece of adhesive foam could do the trick. Scott mentioned that they are aware and are in the midst of replacing the door assemblies.

The room was always cleaned well other than one day the attendant missed one garbage bin (not a big deal) Internet is free in all rooms but you get what you pay for. It's fast enough for checking email but anything more than that will seem to take forever. You can however opt to pay for a higher speed. I did notice though that I could pick up the wifi signal even at the beach and at the zoo across the street so perhaps the speed or lack of speed could be the result of others surfing on the open network.

There is a Japanese restaurant in the lobby area , Lulu's which is on the second floor and is kinda attached to the hotel yet its not, and Tucker and Bevy, a Panini/Smoothy cafe. We ate at all except the Japanese and they did not disappoint. One thing that I did miss is a lobby lounge. I really enjoy larger lobbies with a bar and sometimes live music. You will not get that here.

The pool area is not as small as I thought from what some other reviews said. There is no bar or anything though other than a vending machine on the same floor. Seriously though, We didn't see any point in using the pool when the beach is just steps away. This part of Waikiki beach has an artificial reef to block the waves and its the perfect depth for lounging around.

I would say that the Park Shore is a solid no frills hotel that prides itself with great service and location. I love the fact that the beach is right across the street so we did find ourselves spending way more time at the beach than we normally do (we come to Waikiki every year) Would l like to see the Park Shore with a nice lounge and maybe a restaurant with room service? Absolutely but would that stop me from coming back, probably not.

If your looking for something as close to the beach as possible without being on the beach, this hotel will work for you. The location is great as it's not quite as busy at this end of the strip yet you can be in the heart of the action with a short 15 min walk.

My husband and I visited Hawaii for our small honeymoon. Hotel was great. Great location . Close to everything and right across the beach. Couldn't be happier with our stay. I will definitely recommend it to friends and family. Will soon be back and will be staying here again. Staff is also nice and helpful.

The Park Shore Waikiki offered an excellent bang for the buck. The room was pretty standard, somewhat dated, but very well taken care of and cleaned. The location is about as good as it gets, we had a great view from the room. Even the hotel restaurant was good. Would stay here again for sure!
