“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2013

We have stayed at the Park Shore for 3 nights in a Standard Room (no views). The rooms are smaller than in any of the other hotels we stayed in Hawaii but the location makes it up for it.
The rooms are clean and well kept. The service of the rooms are rather late in the day and when returning from an excursion or trip after 2 pm and the rooms are not serviced you feel rather disappointed. All up we enjoyed our stay but would most likely not return and rather try a different hotel

Room Tip: Rooms are all the same size, prize depends on view

Aloha Oliver C,

Thank you for taking the time to write a nice review on your recent stay at Park Shore Waikiki. I am glad that you enjoyed our great location and your newly renovated Hotel Room. We do offer larger rooms in the Ocean Front , and Diamond Head Suite categories, and recommend the other view categories as well. You will not be able to find better views than what we offer. We do provide Housekeping Service between 8am-4pm daily. We are happy to honor any requested Housekeeping Service times, just please contact the Front Desk, and we would be happy to arrange a certain time for you each day. We hope that you deicde to give us another chance to experience the view category rooms. Your decision to return in the future will be greatly enhanced.

We last stayed at this hotel when it was undergoing room renovations. The new rooms are beautifully (and very comfortably) furnished; the view of the Pacific Ocean, Kapiolani Park and Diamond Head are gorgeous. Everyone on the staff was friendly and beyond helpful. Highly recommend this as a place to stay when visiting Waikiki.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the Kapiolani Park side of the hotel. As with any hotel in Waikiki, higher up is...

We were at the Park Shore for one week Dec 4 to 11 and thouroughly enjoyed our stay, our room and the Staff. It is located in the best location of beautiful Waikiki. On Kapahulu, right across from the zoo, not only is it quiet but is right across the street from the beach. Our last day we checked out at noon and weren't flying out until 12 midnight, not only did the Hotel store our bags for free but also gave us a courtesy suite to get cleaned up and changed before our flight free of charge. I would highly recommend this Hotel for both value and location.
Aloha!

Room Tip: Choose aroom facing Diamond Head or the Beach

Excellent value for the money. Great views of ocean and diamond head. Staff was helpful and friendly. they went out of their way to make you feel welcome and secure. Hotel was clean and in good condition. Rooms were quite and comfortable. Location was convenient to shopping, zoo, aquarium, shell stadium, and restaurants. We had a ocean view room but did not have any children with us or visit any fitness center

I don't know if we would have found this hotel if a friend had not recommended it, but are so glad we did. There are so many hotels available in Honolulu that we had no idea how to choose, not having been to the city before, and we feel we really lucked out. Park Shore is at the end of the boulevard with the zoo across the street, so there's nothing blocking views of Diamond Head, or views of the Pacific. Excellent beach just across the street, and the hotel provides beach chairs and towels. Staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. A fraction of the cost of the pricier hotels just down the street.

Room Tip: It's worth it to pay extra for a corner room that has views of both Diamond Head and the ocean...

We really want to love this hotel at the quiet edge of Waikiki with unobstructed views of Diamond Head and Waikiki and beautifully renovated and immaculately clean.

The problem is there is no aloha or welcoming spirit from the staff here - from the front desk, to the valet, to the odd reservation practices. The most welcome we felt in our 3 night stay was when we were leaving and the valet bid us farewell.

When we arrived, it was several minutes before the valet even acknowledged us even though there were no other cars in the drive and no one offered to help us with bags. The front desk clerk seemed annoyed to be there, and muttered commands at us as she checked us in. This involuntary service attitude was the vibe we got the entire stay from all of the staff - they must have an awful work culture at this place in paradise!

Also, beware of some shady reservation practices if you book an oceanfront room - despite being able to book a new reservation for the same dates for this room type, upon checking in - you might get 'upgraded' to a jr suite that has a view of a wall or your neighbors' lanai which - if you then step out onto your lanai and look right you'll see the ocean. They claim this is an upgrade because the rooms are bigger - but come on, if you book an ocean front room, view must be important to you. This happened to us and another guest, with the excuse that the rooms were oversold (despite the fact that they're continuing to sell them) - so I'm guessing it's practice and a bad policy.

If this happens to you or you book a jr suite, just ask for a room on the outer tip of the building - the three rooms farthest from the center have nice views from the lanai (park views from the room).

Aloha kxv2,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review regarding your recent stay at Park Shore Waikiki. I am very disappointed that we did not properly greet you upon arrival, not happy about your room assignment, and that you did not have a good experience with our staff overall. It does not seem that your concerns were brought to managements attention during your stay, but I am happy to address them with you still, and resolve them for you. Our service professionals are one of the main subjects that other guests write about in their experience when staying here, and the comments are extremely positive. I would like to know more details and encourage you to reach out to me by email or phone.

we booked at the park shore for our honeymoon, we are arrived from australia at 9 am in the morning and could check into our room straight away which was great after the long flight. The staff were friendly and helpful, Stephaine on the tour desk was an amazing help we ended up booking all our acitvited through her,
we had a great view of wakiki.
the only down side was having a private sign on our door and housekeeping still coming in without annoucing themselves or knocking.

other wise it was a great stay and convievnt location

Room Tip: book the ocean view king room
