“Great for one night's stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

We had one night's stay here in between connecting flights to other islands. We were welcomed very nicely at the front dest on our late arrival and had a spectacular view of the harbor with the lagoon in the morning. Large balcony, comfy bed, ample kitchen space and we appreciated the little decor touches all around the room. Wish we could have stayed longar!

We enjoyed our own happy hour at sunset every night on our 100 sq ft lanai with amazing views. This unit has a new kitchen with large island and bathroom too... also comfy beds that have privacy with sliding shoji screens. There is a gym, pool, market place and the best organic coffee at the lobby level.

Room Tip: Sunset views are amazing so #737 was ideal. You can also hear, see the conch blowing and torch light...

We stayed in one of the privately owned condos in the building. It has a great view over the Hilton lagoon - perfect for watching the spectacular Friday night fireworks. Decor was a bit tired but the bed was a super king and comfortable. The ilikai itself could do with a vacuum in the corridors. The downstairs bar was very average but the top of the I restaurant was fantastic. Nice handy location to ala moana mall, Waikiki and the bus routes.

We had a wonderful time staying in Ilikai Condo 1938. We arrived and were surprised by how many water toys there were available on the deck. The condo was big enough for us and our two girls. The view from the balcony was amazing. We saw surfers every morning and a luau dinner on the rooftop of the adjacent building every night.
There was an ABC store right across from the Ilikai to get groceries along with a decent store in the hotel. There were also some inexpensive places to eat nearby that we found. There was also a laundry mat with two washers and two dryers on our floor. The cost per load to wash was $2.50 and to dry was $2.50. This was a bit steep I thought but it was nice to have this option. The parking cost, which I believe is the same everywhere in Hawaii, was $28 per day for valet parking at the Ilikai. I think we could have parked at the marina behind the Ilikai for less but since we had a rental car we wanted the security of the valet parking under the hotel.
The only thing I would change about this condo would be the fact that the pull out couch was very squeaky so we took the mattress off and that helped some but it was very old also and had a lot of lumps and bumps for the girls. We would definitely recommend this condo and it's manager Kat to anyone. Kat helped us right away with any email questions I had for her and we absolutely loved the location. It was beautiful and nice and quiet every night.

Lived here for over a year for work. Loved how convenient the location was to bus, ABC store, McDonalds (across the street). Always felt safe here with security in plain sight which is important for a woman traveling alone. Having a kitchen, large lanai, awesome pool, workout gym (free for guests too) and beautiful view make this the perfect place for families & seniors alike

Room Tip: Higher floors facing the ocean are awesome

Hotel is perfectly placed if you don't want to be in the main tourist section of town. You are far enough away to have a relaxing time, but still close enough to walk to the main strip. Close to the Ala Moana Shopping plaza (5 min walk) and close enough to the beach (10 min walk). If you find that's too far to walk then you can use the lagoon located directly next door at the Hilton.
Every Friday night the Hilton has a fireworks show that you can see from the hotel depending on your room, otherwise you can go down to the bar/pool area and watch from there.

The room was extremely clean and had everything that we needed. Beach towels were provided and plenty of towels for showering. The lobby of the hotel has several stores, including a grocery store where you can buy anything you need including alcohol. There is a bar/grill and a restaurant on top of the building that has amazing views.

Our apartment had a view of the pool and harbour. Very relaxing. There is a bus stop right outside the front door and there was always at least one taxi waiting in the drive. The pool also has a bar and staff will take you to deck chairs, provide towels and take drink and food orders from your deck chair. I don't know how anyone could give this place a bad review....what more could you want.

Room Tip: We booked through Waikiki Ocean Front Rentals and their websitte provides a diagram so you can see w...
