“Nice hotel & great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013 via mobile

Our family Stayed here over Christmas for our first trip to Hawaii, This hotel is in a great location just a couple of blocks to the beach, in less than a 10 min you have access to the beach, restaurants & dozens of top class stores.
First impressions or the hotel are good, check in was quick & well organised & the Staff were friendly

Our rooms were on the executive levels, they were cosy, clean and very modern. & there was a fridge for your own food & drinks
we had great views from the balcony, & could watch the surfers & sunsets in the evenings.
Traffic is noisy, but we were in the city so didn't mind too much.
Buffet breakfast was good with a nice varied selection, seating space was limited at busy times so you could be waiting around for a table.
There's no Internet available in the rooms, so everyone congregates in the lobby. This was the only downside we found

Would I come back here.... Absolutely

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The walk to the beach was only a block and the bed and bathroom where very nice. The food on room service wasn't all that great, but overall our experience here was a nice one.

I brought my young daughters to Waikiki for the first time and reserved our entire week at this hotel. The staff were friendly, hotel was pleasant, and location was satisfactory. Wiakiki is somewhat noisy and we were able to hear a lot of the noise from our room, but was able to rest as well. We had a wonderful, uneventful stay and would recommend this hotel. My daughters loved the pool area. The hotel resteraunt was a little pricey and service was not as pleasant as I hoped for, but only used it once.

Our first time to Hawaii, we spent 8 days at this hotel Jan 13th -22nd to celebrate with our daughter for her 30th birthday. We had booked 2 rooms thru Hotwire, One for my husband and I, the other for our daughter and her boyfriend. While they clearly stated that they couldn't guarantee a double or a king room, they suggested to speak directly to the hotel to confirm your room type and location. It was very apparent that they were not about to entertain any view level or even confirm a king room. They did however, put us on the same floor. Don't get me wrong, this is a great hotel, but I didn't feel the love for booking thru hotwire. When we arrived, they sed there were no king's available and yay...4th floor:( We were pretty disappointed to spend the week in double beds overlooking the parking garage and lounge rooftop. The street was also very noisy at that level. Enough of the negative, Mac's 24/7 is great, as was the coffee bar for a quick morning snack. We enjoyed the hot tub and pool bar (yes it was windy up there). Would I recommend this hotel? Yes I would, only if you are 10th floor or higher.

Room Tip: 10th floor or higher

We booked in this hotel as part of our wedding anniversary celebration. We chosen executive ocean view room . To start with, this is not a 4 * hotel, it looks tired and dated. Apart from the room, which was reasonable, the rest of the hotel looked not more than a 3 * to me. The swimming pool was so small, the facilities in the pool area were dreadful. We booked in a executive room so we can have access to the executive lounge. Wow ! What a lounge? It was in the basement and looks more than an office canteen to me. Having say that, the breakfast the lounge was good. The room balcony was so small and not worth paying extra for an ocean view room. The location of the hotel is ok but please don't be mislead by Hilton's website photo. The phot on the web gives you the impression the hotel has a clear view of the ocean. WRONG. The view is obscured by two tall buildings in front of the hotel. You still get partially ocean view though. Have a look in google map and see what i mean. In my opinion is not worth paying the extra for an ocean view room. We have stayed in many hilton hotels around the world, this one is certainly the worst one. We have met 3 different concierges in the hotel. They are helpful providing if you buy one of their holiday activities. For anything else you need from them you will get a casual answer. Overall, we were very disappointed with hotel , and I wouldn't recommend it you. Shop around, there far better hotels around with better value for money. Take my word for it.

Room Tip: I wouldn't choose this hotel. However, if you have to , don't waist your money on an ocean v...

Thank you for your review of our hotel. I am so very sorry to hear of your disappointment with the location of the hotel, size of the rooms and more. It is never our intent to disappoint our valued guests. Additionally, please accept my apology that you found the photo misleading. We sit just two short blocks from the beach and the photo that is displayed is our best vantage point. Thank you again and hope that you had safe travels home.

We stayed here four nights on a layover. We didn't want to spend the high prices staying directly on the beach and this was a great alternative. It's a very short walk to the beach, the main strip and all of the restaurants. We did it with two kids and enjoyed the walking. The hotel is very nice. Spacious lobby, friendly staff, and restaurant open 24/7 (we never tried it but it looked busy). We had a problem initially with our room - there was only one bed (we booked a double room) and no crib. They had tried hard to reserve us a room with a bath tub which was very much appreciated, but unfortunately forgot we needed beds for the kids as well. We ended up with the proper bed count but unfortunately no bath tub. It was an unfortunate delay added to our late-night arrival.

The room was spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. We faced north and had great views of the city and mountains. We could also see the deck with the pool, though it was empty while we were there as it was very windy. Saw some people enjoying the hot tub though. The bathroom was very large with a huge shower and lots of counter and storage space which was nice. Didn't hear any noise inside our room. Internet was around $10 for 24 hours. Rooms were kept clean and we had no complaints.

In addition to being a close walk to everything in Waikiki, it is a close walk to mostly all car rental companies. I highly recommend renting a car for the day and travelling around the island. The north shore is tropical and having lunch at one of the many shrimp shacks is a must-do! We had a great buffet breakfast at Duke's one morning, very reasonable when you have kids 3 and under (they eat free). Denny's is also a short walk away which is great for kids at breakfast.

Would definitely recommend this hotel!

No problems recommending the Waikiki Hilton, it's only a block or 2 from the ocean front and located right in the middle of the Waikiki strip of bars, restaurants and shops etc.

The hotel itself is as you would expect from a Hilton, immaculately clean, classy and very comfortable rooms. Parking is Valet only but if you check the surrounding streets you can get lucky with free on-street parking in the evenings, just requires a little patience.

All in all a lovely hotel with lovely sunset views in a superb city!
