This was a great find by my husband! Not only is the hotel clean, fresh and modern the staff are also lovely! We stayed here for our honeymoon (not to say thats why everyone was lovely - everyone gets special treatment) at the beginning of our Hawaii trip and the last night as its so nice.
Two gorgeous pools and you feel like a princess being waited on hand and foot! They make very good piña colada's (even better with sailor jerry rum!)
Rooms are quirky and just all fresh looking and lovely.
The restaurant attached is superb although pricey amazing dumpling with bacon foam - I would eat there again just for that!
The only thing I would say is they should offer complimentary tea when they offer the coffee in the morning although my husband loved the coffee I had to buy my own tea... But I think that's pretty standard here.
Location is brilliant. I just live this hotel and definitely recommend it!

If you're looking for a luxury hotel, that's different to the chain hotels, this is a cool, boutique, modern and luxurious hotel. Rooms are spacious, beds really comfortable, choice of two pools with great views for sunset, and the staff were really accommodating yet not totally suffocating.

The Modern is a paradise within paradise. Its refreshingly different to all other places in Waikiki, with its own uniques style. The staff are incredibly friendly & always going above & beyond to make our stay extra special. Looking forward to returning next year!

For a mid-40s no kids travelling couple this hotel was exactly what we wanted. No frills but a feeling of controlled luxury. Excellent staff who are communicative and open at all times. Functional areas that do what one needs and nothing pretentious. Atmosphere for partying and Hawaii style fun is there but it's not forced down your throat and you can have a quiet holiday without knowing it. The rooms are the right size and shape and for the price, excellent. Everything we needed was working.

This should be called the "Modern, Cool, Hip but Honest Hotel" because that's what I thought of it.
