“Excellent & Interesting History!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

What a fantastic place to visit for no entry fee, donations appreciated. We spent almost 2 1/2 hours in this place, it was well planned throughout the building. The museum is housed in Battery Randolph a massive reinforced concrete emplacement with roofs as much as 12 feet thick.
Captain Cook and the Hawaiian Chiefs, Pearl Harbor, Vietnam War, Korean War, Hawaiian's Japenese Americans and General Shinseki and the Gallery of Heroes, to name a few chapters in this museum. The artillery used and the man made weapons and how they evolved as years went passed.....all factual and very interesting....This museum has a gift shop at the end of the tour.
Thoroughly recommended and suitable for children

“Lovely”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

My hotel was situated outside of this park, so I walked through it often. I found it to be clean and safe--even walking through it alone at night. There is a homeless presence in Waikiki beach area, and they sleep in parks. There is the occasional scent of urine, but no threatening behavior at all.

“An alternative route to get to the beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2012

Discovered this park by accident and enjoyed walking through the beautiful green lawns to get to the beach instead of past all the usual shops. Great for the kids to frolic around and watch the little sparrows and various other birds in the trees whilst enjoying the shade. Stopped to sit under the huge Banyan tree at the Hale Koa hotel.
