Being a life-long resident and native Hawaiian, Sans Souci beach has been a favorite for most of my life. I has a protected cove, and real sand surrounded by some of the most historical areas in all of the Waikiki-Kapahulu area. One can walk over to the Honolulu Zoo, visit Kapiolani Park, and eat at the Elks Club, where the restaurant shots were filmed for "the Decendants," and get the best meal in Waikiki at Michel's at the Colony Surf. This was the favorite spot for Robert Louis Stevenson, King Kalakaua, and Queen Liliu`okalani. The beach is very family friendly, and visitors at the main Waikiki hotels can catch a city bus to this beach for one dollar and a short 5 minute ride. The main thing to remember in Hawaii is to go where the "locals" go, eat where the "locals" eat, and swim where the "locals swim. The restrooms and comfort areas are usually clean and well policed. This Not always the case in other parts of Waikiki.
