“Partake at Plumeria!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013

Plumeria in the Kahala Resort occupies a beautiful large space, an indoor area with a view of the beach and ocean as well as an outdoor verandah. Both buffet and menu service are available here.Service is very good and prompt. We finally discovered the daily resort activities listing on the back page of the NYT digest on the table at the entrance! We all looked forward to the breakfast buffet each morning. My selection was typically some combo of guava juice, spa water, Kona coffee, papaya and pineapple, egg white vegetable omelet or yogurt and granola parfait, My family liked the eggs to order, bacon and sausage selections, salmon and capers, fingerling potatoes, huge strawberries and Japanese rice bowl with pickled vegetables and seaweed. They also discovered Kahalasadas (sugared donuts), rolled crepes and pineapple cake! Different specials were served in large chafing dishes daily-all good! Chicken thighs in mushroom sauce, hash, and a frittata were offered during our week. The quality of the breakfast buffet was so good, we returned for the Friday night seafood buffet. We were also enticed by the "San Francisco Seafood" theme. Dinner was an extremely good value, and all of us went straight toward the station where the chef was customizing bowls of steaming hot cioppino! Really good! We supplemented that with plenty of island ahi tuna sashimi, various pokes, crab legs, sushi, chowder in sour dough bread bowls, shrimp and terrific fennel slaw.. We also treated ourselves to several items from the Dessert table-coconut cake, strawberry cake and macadamia nut tartlets were memorable choices! The buffets were very well tended and presented. All foods are named and labeled as Nut-free (NF), Dairy-free (DF) and Gluten-free(GF)..

Brilliant food and staff, plus the added bonus of amazing views of the Pacific. Can be busy at peak times

“Great breakfast and must try fish buffet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

Breakfast brilliant fresh omelette station gorgeous. Dinner lovely setting and great food must try the seafood buffet on a Friday or Saturday as choices huge my only suggestion would be change the theme on each night as they repeat on a Saturday which if you use both nights can be repetitive

“Great view and food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013

Buffet breakfast every morning is wonderful. They offer shaded seating outdoors and indoor seating. You can very casual but the food quality and presentation is that of a high end Sunday brunch. The dinner buffet is only open a few nights so be sure to ask in advance.

“Great Ocean View but Pricey!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2013

Absolutely fabulous views from this ocean-side venue within the Kahala Resort Hotel - about 2-3 miles on the other side of Diamond Head from Waikiki. Food and service are befitting of a top-notch resort, but also be prepared to pay 5-star prices as well. The famed surf n' turf weekend buffet was $55.00 per person, and drinks are $10 a piece or more. A plus - we dined without a reservation on a Saturday night, and were seated outside about a half an hour prior to sunset, despite the presence of a large wedding party that same night. Also, their Maitai is one of the best on Oahu, right behind the Hale Koa barefoot bar. Bottom line - awesome setting, but not a cheap date! If you want the best, this qualifies on many scores!!
