“Wyndham timeshare - good location, but not on the beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

The outside of the building is not to exciting based on other Wyndham properties I have been at before, but the inside is entirely different. Stayed in a studio unit on the 14th floor facing west and overlooking the canal and park. This is not a beach front property but it only a few blocks away from the beach. I did not find the unit noisy, like one of the previous reviewers.Free wifi with good signal strength. The staff was wonderful, but I did skip the owners update and related activities. This was a business trip and I had no time for pleasure related activities other than several walks along the canal and the beach.

This hotel is made a pleasure by the staff on the front desk they are so helpful all of them. Also the door men are the nicest they call out to you like you are long lost friends. The rooms are great we had two studios they are large and very clean. The both had king beds. We also had kitchenettes with microwaves. The view we had was canal view and also city view. It is a five minute walk to the beach. Would be happy to stay here again. Thanks to the wonderful staff.

We stayed on the top floor which was time share. The floor and the rooms and view were great but, there was a loud noise every night. Reported noise and staff said it was ac or something and they were going to get it fixed, never happen. I think it sound like elevator going up and down. Noise seem to get quieter of midnight. Again the view was great, especially for fireworks display.
It is a little ways from beach, which was OK by me. Overall good place except for noise.

Our family (6 of us) stayed at the Royal Garden Waikiki for 3 days (at the end of our 10 day stay) in August 2013. This was a GREAT place to stay. Close to all the activity and within walking distance to the beach, shops and transit. The staff was excellent and when we had a crisis (sick grandson) they went out of their way to accommodate us in every way. Our room on the 25th floor had views beyond our expectations. I will definitely stay at this resort again. I know it is a timeshare resort - but if you don't want to attend - just say no - there was no pressure.
If you are planning a trip to Hawaii - Royal Garden at Waikiki is the place to stay!!!
Regards, Andrea and Bill

Room Tip: If you can, try to get a room on the upper floors - the view!!! WOW

Ther front desk staff (Aaron) is first rate corporate guy. Will tell you everthing the corporate training maunal teaches you but the sugar pants will not really help you at all.

Simple request to change from a room wirth one bed to a room with two beds was not honored.

watch out for the timeshare vultures.

Rooms are very noisey too much street noise.

Pick a better Hotel closer to beach

Room Tip: Confirm everything up front Front Desk staff is horrible

Hi Terry,

We are disappointed to hear your interaction with the resort staff did not meet your expectations. As we do have a large amount of guests occupying our units, sometimes it is difficult to find an open unit. We also apologize for the noise you encountered during you stay. We do offer complimentary ear plugs at the front desk for your convenience. Please feel free to reach out to the manager during your stay if this occurs in the future.

I stayed at the Royal Garden Waikiki as part of my timeshare. My studio was on the 10th floor and included: large lanai with two chairs and a table, large flatscreen tv with numerous channels, stereo/dvd, programmable A/C, king bed w/ attractive linens, shower/tub in bath with tub sitting area, kitchenette with coffee maker/microwave/sink/fridge/dishes/utensils, small dining area, closet (w/ iron/ironing board) and safe. Bath towels and beach/pool towels provided and easily exchanged. Fast/Free internet access (3 to 6 Mb/s download, about 0.6 Mb/s up). Free laundry room with included detergent/softener. Small game room. Nice pool area with adequate lounges, picnic tables, and BBQ pits. Valet only on-site parking (I think it was around $25/day). Staff is very accommodating and friendly. Building was recently renovated and it shows....and the staff keeps it looking in top shape. It is at the very beginning of Waikiki, so be prepared to walk to the main tourist areas of Waikiki. Alternatively, take TheBus as needed, there are stops right out in front. From the Hotel to Prince Kuhio Beach Park, assume a 15-20 minute brisk walk. I like the fact that it is away from the noise and hustle/bustle and is in a bit more residential area of Waikiki. I'll be happily staying here again later this winter.

Great hotel, well presented and very nice staff.
We spent four nights and were greeted with an invitation to visit the concierge for a welcome gift. This was reinforced with a note put under our door. On visiting the concierge, mainly to book a couple if tours, we were told we could get $125 off the cost; all we had to do was to spend 90 minutes with the Wyndam Time Share team for a presentation. Silly us of course this turned into a 2 hour, one on one, sales session. The reality of this was that we effectively lost half a day of R&R. We did not buy. Maybe we should have paid the $125 and gained some more "us" time.
Other than that the place was excellent. But we will be better armed next time to avoid the sales pitch.
