I visited the memorial as part of a Pearl Harbour trip and unfortunately we stayed on the bus as it toured the site. Personally I would have preferred to wander around and contemplate the lives of those cut short. Having visited other such places where headstones/crosses mark each grave this memorial has the plaques inserted in the lawn hence the impact is not quite so great. Nevertheless it was a moving visit and one that will stay in my mind for ever.
