We travelled with 2 adults and 2 kids. Either you bring in cold water - or be prepared to buy it every so often - because this Zoo is mostly out in the open and there is a lot of walking to and from the different exhibits. I wish they had more water fountains (with cold water) and misting stations throughout - because it does get very hot there. Make sure you bring your sunscreen / hats / and sunglasses. We have been here before and we find that a lot of times the animals are tired, and are hiding out of sight - which is OK to us (they should be allowed to do what they want) - but just be forewarned if you bring kids who are eager to see LOTS of animals. There is a small playground there - as well as a kids section of the zoo where you can pet goats and horses. We will definitely go there again next vacay. It's within walking distance from Waikiki hotels - and there is a hidden Gandhi statue outside the zoo - in the park - which is always a good photo opp.
