We stayed at the Royal Hawaiian and ate breakfast here twice..the food is delicious and you can't beat the view! The first day we visited we had a great experience with Wayne! He was attentive and very nice. However we went our second to last day and had a terrible experience. We got there around 1030. Breakfast ends at 11. There was quite a few people in front of us and the host looked beyond overwhelmed. She couldn't tell us if we could make breakfast or not..not even a clue as to how long it would be. Another guest kept asking for a manager (he was obviously tired of waiting, they didn't seem busy at all.) We finally got seated about 11:05 with breakfast menus only to be told by our waitress that breakfast was over. Luckily they were still willing to make us simple scramble eggs and my husband was able to do the breakfast buffet (which seemed like a really good value at $30.) Our server was terrible though (Donna). She didn't bring us waters and it took her over 15 minutes to refill my husband's coffee, we watched her stand around a socialize during this time. It seems like it can be a hit or miss experience. The first visit is what I expected for a 5 star hotel restaurant..second time not at all.
