“room with jacuzzi”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

We stayed a week at the outrigger room with Jacuzzi. The room is smaller compared to the Sheraton but we love the in-room Jacuzzi with beach front views. Location is more central than the Sheraton so there will be more traffic and people. Food is good at their restaurants. Stay here for the location and jacuzzi. Enjoy Hawaii

Room Tip: upper floor or you will be right on top of the restaurant playing loud music on weekend

To be honest we didnt love the hotel. The location is great but the staff we thought really let it down. Our ocean view room on level 10 was great and much better than i thought we would get. At the activites desk we just got harrassed by the staff who were trying to make us go to a time share meeting...very off putting. The next time we had to go to the desk we lied and said we were under 27 years of age so they would leave us alone. While on the beach lounges we never recieved pool service although i did see a waitress come out once or twice over our stay. You are not allowed to order anymore than 1 drink at a time so this meant my husband and I had to keep getting up seperatley which was very frustrating and not relaxing at all. The restaurant part of Dukes had good service but when i asked if there was any vegetarian options on the menu i was told no we don't really do vegetarian which meant i had the salad buffet for dinner :( My husband enjoyed his mahi mahi though. The one person who we did recieve excellent service from was the man who runs the towel service by the pool Im sorry ive forgotten his name but I believe he may have been of asian background. This staff member was lovely and didnt stop walking around making sure the pool area was clean and everyone had towels. In hindsight i wish we had stayed at the hilton which was further away

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights preceding a Hawaiian island cruise. The Outrigger Waikiki Beach had been recommended to us because of its location in Honolulu and its amenities- primarily the restaurant and bar selection right on the beach. It is also central to other restaurants and shopping in a very busy and active stretch of Waikiki. We paid for an Ocean View room and were on the 14th floor. Be aware that many of the rooms in this category have side views but in the end we were pleased we were high enough for views of both the city and the beach. Duke's Sunset Bar did not disappoint us but it is an extremely busy place - you won't always get a table. The hotel has everything one might expect of a large luxury hotel. The only negative thing about the hotel was the servicing of elevators for the 3 days we were there and that did produce some delays. Would we stay there again? Yes, but only after researching the neighbouring hotels that seem to have similar amenities . The cost of staying here is high , so I would feel better doing my homework.

Room Tip: Higher the better

i
I stayed at the outrigger Waikiki on the beach for 9 nights (with my partner and his family in the room next door which was requested) in late December 2012 to January 2013, I cannot complain once!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The room was more than I expected the view for a partial ocean view was amazing we could see Waikiki beach!!!!

The Staff were great front desk and the concierge was a great help !!! The hula Grill has beautiful food, we had New Year’s Eve there and it was great the food, the drinks, the view and the fireworks were amazing from the Hula grill. We had breakfast here a few times and the pancakes were so big and taste so good :)

Dukes, was great we had breakfast here and the buffet was very yummy, the fresh omelettes were great in the morning :)

The Pool was nice and newly renovated but the beach was right there so we stayed at the beach most of the time as the water is so clear, you can hire a beach chair and umbrella which is nice to relax on!

The shops in the hotel only a few have great gifts to bring back home 

This Outrigger Waikiki on the beach was amazing it truly is right on Waikiki beach the atmosphere is great the people are great everything was 100%

I will definitely stay here again with no hesitation :) cannot wait to come back

MANY THANKS OUTRIGGER :)

One night did not do this place justice and we will surely return. Clean room with acceptable view and some great inhouse dining venues with ambience and good food. Great breakfast buffet. The staff bent over backwards to help when we had problems with wifi on our netbook.
Upon returning to Australia, discovered w had left a camera in the lobby and after a phonecall to the hotel, they had it back to us in 4 working days.
Please upgrade the very slow lifts please.

We arrived to our partial ocean view rooms expecting to see and hear the ocean. To be fair, if you went out to the balcony, you could see a small portion of the ocean, however you could only hear street noise, and not the surf. Your views from inside the sliding door were of the fans and roof of The Cheesecake Factory Restaurant a few doors away. I spoke to the front desk about my disappointment with the view and I was told that in Hawaii,,views are always categorized by the view while standing on the balcony. Oh, ok pay an additional $230.00 per night per room(we had two)to get a view. Needless to say we stayed where we were. We had an express elevator to the 14th floor,so that was a positive for five hours. The express elevator was then taken out of service for the duration of our stay. The remaining 3 elevators serviced all 16 floors from the lower lobby(street level) which was the beach and pool access level and Dukes restaurant location. The 2nd floor lobby housed the front desk and Hula Grill Restaurant. At night, we were concerned that anyone could access any floor from the lower lobby since it was so open. We were happy to see a security guard making rounds on our floor at night. We ate at Dukes breakfast buffet each morning and were pleased with the options. The beach was right outside the back door. I signed the kids up for surfing lessons which was a highlight of the trip.We also signed up for an outrigger canoe ride, which was also a lot of fun.We did not use the pool, because after all, you were on Waikiki beach. We ate in a variety of places, all within walking distance. You do not need a car at this location, we got one for our last 24 hours and it cost $35.
