“Great Historical Site”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013

Great way to understand better the impact of missionaries on Hawaii's history. Beautiful setting. Short wait for the tour. Gift shop had a nice selection of unusual items and exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Our only complaint would be that the docent was not very knowledgeable (not able to answer really any question put forward by the visitors in our group).

“Bogus groupon”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013

We bought a groupon to go which we could only use on a certain day of the week. They must have over sold some groupons because there was a 3 month wait list to get in! My schedule changes at work every month so we found it impossible to use it. They were not very nice about it either

“History with Charm”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2012

Everybody loves to hate the missionaries, but this little museum puts into perspective the role they played in saving the Hawaiian language. A charming look at Hawaiian history through art, architecture, and written word. I came away knowing more, understanding more, and richer for the experience. Don't miss this little gem.

“Mision Houses need a mission statement”

I like history and went there to get some exposure. Its not been maintained as well as you woudl want. The best thing is when they ahve their craft fair.

“A small piece of the missionary story”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2012

Cool, quiet spot on the edge of downtown Honolulu - across from City Hall and other government buildings. Too bad they keep losing their tea room/cafe vendors. Get takeout food in town and sit on the lawn -if that's allowed. Check out Kawaiahao Church and cemetery next door for more Hawaiian history.
