“Holiday Inn - Very clean and very friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

My firend and I stayed for 1 night at the Holiday Inn Waikiki. We had a very nice oceanview room with 2 double beds. The room was exceptionally clean and the beds comfortable. The staff were very helpful and were happy to assist in every way. We we only staying for 1 night as we were heading out to join the cruise ship the folowing morning. Good tip from the porter who advised that it was cheaper to get a cab from the Hotel to the pier than it was to get the shuttle. Also, you go direct where the shuttle stops at several hotels and takes ages. The cab cost was approx.$17.50. . It was nice to pop into Jimmy Buffett's and sample a brew. Would definitely recommend this hotel to stay at whilst in Waikiki.

Room Tip: Ask for a high room and one with a view of the ocean.

Aloha crazyblonde007 and thank you for your kind words! We wish you had more time to experience the Beachcomber and the Waikiki area, but perhaps next time? :) Our team appreciates your comments, especially about our helpful staff, nice & clean rooms, etc. Hope you enjoyed your cruise and that you return to Waikiki in the not-too-distant future. Mahalo, Dean.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights recently after Jetstar cancelled our return flight to Australia and available accommodation was hard to find. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and if we return to Hawaii would definitely stay here. Check in was easy and all staff we had contact with were lovely and helpful. The rooms were very well furnished and the bed was extremely comfortable. Housekeeping also did a wonderful job. Location is perfect right in the middle of Waikiki and close to everything. The only negative was that the pool is quite small but hey, its so close to Waikiki Beach that it didn't really matter! Highly recommended.

I decided to edit my previous review, I mentioned Josh Peavy but left out Emmett McShane,Clifford Reyes Jr, and Kanku Livae. These gentelmen truly represent what "Curtesy" stands for. I've been here for over a month now and had time to see day in and day out that these guys are always helpful, happy, and very energetic.Emmett has directed me to a few places for entertainment...Lots of fun! Clifford has pointed out diffrent locations that would be a great place to live ( since I will be living here in the next month.) Quiet and beautiful. And Kanku is alway greeting me with a smile and a good day Mr. Ramirez, no matter what time of the day it is even if I'm working really, really early in the morning. This Holiday Inn is one of many I have spent time in, by far it's the most friendly. I will recommend this hotel to the rest of my co-worker and tell them to look out for these guys, they treat you RIGHT! Thank you and your staff for making this a great stay.

Jose L. Ramirez

Room Tip: Make sure that you ask for the 2nd floor...Pool! no need to travel far.

We spent a week at Holiday Inn Beachcomber from 19 to 26 October 2012.

The location was perfect - in the centre of Waikiki and just a walk across the road and down an alley to the beach. The alley is to the left of The Cheesecake Factory. A little hard to spot the first time, but once you've found it then no problems.

Our partial ocean view room did have a partial ocean view but only from the balcony. No worry to us though as we were out and about most the time.

We specially asked for a room on a higher floor to avoid noise (level 15). Despite the hustle and bustle below it was relatively quiet when the balcony doors were shut.

The room was modern and my only gripe would be that some of the walls could have been a bit cleaner.

The staff were all courteous and very helpful. Dylan in the bar on the first floor was particularly entertaining :) we found the food in the bar great too.

We would stay here again without hesitation.

Room Tip: Ask for a recently renovated room on a higher floor.

Aloha Irlabaz and thank you for your Beachcomber review! We're glad to hear that you came to Hawaii all the way from Florida for a cruise and had the opportunity to stay at our hotel for one night. We hope next time you'll find time for a longer stay and enjoy the Waikiki area and the island of Oahu at a more leisurely pace. We hope your future travel plans include Hawaii again. Mahalo, Dean.

The hotel is located about 2 blocks away from Waikiki Beach...so easy to walk to. Tons of shopping on the strip. Starts getting busy around 8am. Best thing to do is to walk the International Market Place to get the best deals on souvieners. Staff is incredible (well most of them). You enter and exit on an esculator...as your leaving there are some rather pushy people trying to sell you trips for certian things to do. They do not like to be told no, and if you do, plan on them trying to convince you to buy from them while walking away from them. The hotel does have a person inside to talk to about any adventures that you want to go on. (His name is James...he is awesome) We used most of our traveling points for the hotel. The hotel is clean, but the rooms are pretty small. Most have a balcony attached to the rooms.

You're right about our superb location and thank you for mentioning our incredible staff, including James at the tour desk. This hotel may be in Waikiki Beach but the area feels like Vegas. LOTS!!!! of high end shopping and restaurants withing walking distance of the hotel. If you can find the right path to take it's also a fairly quick walk to the beach where there are several nice hotel bars and THE MOST PERFECT pictures of Diamond Head! Delightful front desk staff. A nice bar located right at the pool & Margaritaville in the downstairs. There's a hefty charge for valet parking...$30/night and our rental was scraped up while in their care but there is no place else to park so you just gotta suck it up and pay the bucks. Rooms and bathrooms are nice and about what you'd expect for a Holiday Inn. We didn't have a view...don't think anybody did probably. Maybe the pool side? Nice place & I would stay here again if I ever planned to return to Honolulu...which I don't! Like I said...feels like Vegas!

Aloha ach27205, thank you for your honest review and for visiting us all they way from North Carolina! We certainly appreciate your business. You're right about our location being convenient to the beach and lots of nearby dining options and thank you for your kind words about our staff. I'm sad though to hear that you don't plan on returning as the island of Oahu has lots to offer besides the Waikiki area and I hope one day you'll reconsider... mahalo, Dean.
