From the minute we checked in we were treated with top notch service. Everyone was nice, professional & accommodating, such a great stay. Beautiful, clean, you just cant beat it. We will be back. It was a bit pricier than other places but it is a Luxury Collection. Well worth the extra. It is walking distance to anything your heart desires.
GO enjoy this beautiful hotel on the emerald blue water.

Room Tip: We did not choose the historical building since it seemed to not be on the water.

This is one of those classic historic hotels that is a must stay! The Pink Palace is not only a landmark because of its looks and prime beach location but also for its long and storied history. We spent the first couple of days on Oahu at this hotel and our family had a fantastic stay. The staff was very accommodating and they went out of their way to make our short stay memorable. We had their special banana bread waiting upon arrival with Champagne and special cookies. We stayed in a corner room overlooking the ocean. It was bright, clean and very colorful. Do yourself a favor and take the history tour to learn about the wonderful history and to see all the special displays and special locations in the facility. Our tour guide was very knowledgable and had a passion for the hotel history. The location could not be more ideal. We walked right out to the beach and swam in the beautiful ocean within minutes. The on-site restaurants were also great and convenient. There is just a short walk to all the high-end stores and Waikiki mall. What a way to start off the trip. This is one of the best spots in Hawaii.

Room Tip: We had a great corner room facing the ocean. Book ahead and ask about the location.

Really nice hotel. Oasis of quietness in super busy Waikiki. Excellent service all around in an understated elegant way. This was my second stay there, and I would absolutely stay there again. Good location, too. Excellent high-end shopping, but at the same time only a 60 min walk from the base of Diamondhead. Directly on the beach.

Old Hawaii, surrounded by huge hotels, with charm and few gimmicks, except Waikiki Beach!
It is expensive but the pain isn't so great, if you've saved for this trip to see old Hawaii with modern conveniences. Just do not go during Christmas and in February. Rooms in the Pink Lady section are delightfully out of touch but so comfortable, big tubs, great views almost from every view. Great buffets, fine dining, lots of everything right there. Have fun!

The queen of Waikiki still stands hidden by the towering high rise hotels that surround and nearly engulf it. The hotel has been there since before WWII and still retains the majesty of old. I was here 25 years ago and the charm still remains.
The staff is simply outstanding! They seen to go out of their way make make your stay as pleasant as possible. The food is wonderful - beachfront dining at its best.

Room Tip: Beachfront if you can afford it is a must!

Having stayed on Waikiki 7 times previously, including 5 times at the Westin Moana Surfrider, we thought we would try 'The Pink Palace'. The price was similar to the Moana but some of the rooms there in the historic wing, you could hardly swing a cat! We checked in early at 11am but our allocated Historic garden room wasn't ready. We asked if there was any other rooms available just now, and we're told we could have an upgraded Historic Grove room which was at a quieter part of the hotel, but came with 2 double beds instead of a king-size. We gladly accepted the room. The whole check-in process was very friendly and handled professionally - off to a good start. Our room was lovely, very good size and much bigger than what we we're used to at the Surfrider. The hotel itself was beautiful and ticked all the boxes - location, beautiful grounds, great range of shops and very accessible staff from front desk, concierge and valet parking staff. The pool was very small but it was never too busy. It opened at 7am when you could get towels to reserve sunbeds. Checkout was noon. We had a late flight out of the island, 11pm so we paid $75 to keep our room til 3pm. There is also a shared complimentary suite which we got the key for which we used to kill some more time. Our bags were stored for us as was our car until we left the hotel for no extra charge. We can't wait to stay at this property, hopefully for a bit longer in a year's time.

Room Tip: checkin early and hope your allocated room isnt ready - you may get a complimentary room upgrade

It’s hard for me to put into words how amazing our stay at the Royal Hawaiian was, as it was shaped by our subjective experiences… by the sea, by the sand…by the entire rose-colored environment.

I had planned this trip for six months as a gift to my daughter for her 13th birthday. She had never visited Hawaii and I hadn’t been for 15-years. Because I’m a single-working mother with limited resources, it was important to me that every detail of our trip — particularly our stay at the Royal Hawaiian — be a dream. Ultimately, the dream didn’t not disappoint. The staff, grounds, room, food and environment were stellar. My daughter was in absolute heaven. I was in heaven. Everyone was so kind and helpful, and seemed to know it was a special occasions so my daughter was regaled with many warm birthday wishes and cheer. From the fine fellows who parked our car and carried our bags (thank you Hal!), to the professionals at the check-in desk, to the beach staff, restaurant servers, room service personnel, and the sweet housekeeping support, one and all were at the top of their game, and therefore our visit was uncommonly refined.

Of course the history and architecture of the Royal Hawaiian are unmatched on Waikiki beach; we felt as though we had stepped back in time in the most rarified, storybook way. We were world travelers walking the great halls that had been traversed by kings and queens and fine film stars before us (whether or not true, that’s how it felt!). It was the sweetest dream come to life.

We were so very sad to leave the Royal Hawaiian, but consoled ourselves with plans for our return—for unless we buy a home in Honolulu, we’ll never stay anywhere else.

Thank you to everyone we encountered at the Royal Hawaiian, particularly Cori Hara, for making this trip one we will never ever forget. Truly.
