“One of the best hotels on Waikiki beachfront”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

A great place to stay by the beach in the heart of waikiki. Relax in the seafront Mai Tai bar where the excellent staff try very hard to please and the signature cocktails help wind you down. We were allowed early check in and better still a room upgrade to full sea view. A memorable stay.
The Royal Hawain is very convenient if you enjoy to be at the heart of Waikiki with plenty of shopping a long beach for swimming and surfing. Only downside is pool area a bit small and can be crowded. On 2 occasions we invited a large number of friends (18 adukts and children) for drinks and dinner. We were treated very well with excellent service.

Room Tip: sea view rooms are best

A real experience. Hawaii has everything you need to have a good holiday. Swimming , diving , dining ....just make sure you don't go there with Robert Allenby! I have stayed at this Hotel every year for the last 6 years and Cori and the staff are second to none. The meet n greet process only precludes what is a lovely experience. I always stay in the old block which has been renovated. The air conditioning may be a bit slow but the rooms take you back to a bygone era and the ambience is priceless. Beautiful beds to sleep in and the turn down staff are locals and always a delight. I don't usually eat here as I like Wolfgang's or Il Lupino but the beachfront bar does a good lunch salad and some great cocktails. The suite I always stay in looks straight down to the entertainment centre and beach front.... life's not a dress rehearsal ... book the old block beachfront and you want be disappointed.

Room Tip: Beachfront in the old building is where you want to stay

It was long our dream to stay at "The Pink Palace." Once we did well never stay anywhere else when we visit Oahu! From our first visit there several years ago to our most recent the registration staff remember us and always do their very best to accommodate our specific room request. The hotel has a quiet elegance and its location back from the Main Street give the felling of a grad old home with a big front yard. Rooms are beautifully appointed and the traditional first night gift of freshly baked banana nut bread is a real treat. All hotel staff are incredibly accommodating. The beach is wonderful and just steps away from your room. Complimentary morning coffee is better than Starbucks and can be enjoyed peacefully at the tables facing the ocean. Our only recent disappointment has been the elimination of the incredible Sunday brucnh they used to have. Hopefully if enought of us let them know how much it is missed they will return it! Deals can be found for this amazing five star hotel and whatever the rate you must treat yourself the The Pink Palace at least once!

Room Tip: Ocean view is over rated! The Garden View rooms are lovely and very quiet! Also you don't have...

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights with my husband for our honey moon. Before we arrived, they wrote an email to us, asking if we had any particular requests or if we would be celebrating any special date. When we arrived they had a courtesy champagne bottle and muffins waiting for us in our room. We received the most amazing service from every person in the staff every day.

Having breakfast was just lovely because we always started our day with a big smile from the staff at the surf lanai restaurant and an wonderful view of the beach and the Diamond Head.

The Hotel is perfectly located and has different amenities every day. You can just sit at the Mai Tai bar and have some drinks listening to a live Hawaiian music band or enjoy the activities they schedule for each day of the week such as bracelet weaving and surf classes.

The gardens, beach and architecture of the hotel are just wonderful. 100% recommended for both families and couples .

Room Tip: Rooms with view to the beach are the best!

It is hard to describe what a lovely stay we had at the Royal Hawaiian this January. Starting with the lei greeting and ending with a terrific Mai Tai overlooking the beach, we would return in a heartbeat. The grounds are meticulously maintained and the staff friendly and accommodating. We had an ocean front room on the sixth floor with stunning sunset views. The room and bathroom were spotless. The old Hawaii decor throughout the hotel and grounds was enchanting. Although you are staying on busy Waikiki beach, this hotel is a haven amongst the high rise neighbors. There is no better place to stay in Honolulu!

Room Tip: Ocean front is the best!

The Royal is beautiful and is a living landmark of Waikiki. It's worth just walking through its lobby and soaking in the history. Right after the attack on Pearl Harbor soldiers could stay there for only 0.25 per night. The hotel is beautiful but it is old and some of the rooms are not as nice as others. While I have never spent the night at the Royal I have been there many times and know many who have and have been told they have seen mice. Also the Royal used to have the most spectacular buffet on Sunday mornings. They have discontinued this and was a real disappointment to learn. It too was a landmark to enjoy. The gift shops are exquisite and expensive and the location and beach is second to none.

I loved everything about this hotel. The renovations brought the property up to speed in the techno age, but the hotel remains true to its genuinely royal heritage. The grounds, the food, the beach, the Frette linens, the art, the fresh flowers, the quietness, the service, the location, the aura of glamorous history and the overall pinkness of this palace are absolutely wonderful. I can't wait to return.
