“Paradise”

As return guests to The Royal of 35 years,we never tire of this special hotel .From the minute you are greeted with an orchid Lei,to walking thru the beautiful Hawaiian gardens to our luxurious room,it is paradise. Some things have changed over the years but the wonderful people we have known for so long still work there and treat us like long lost friends. The spirit of Aloha is ever present through out the hotel and in particular through out the staff.
My daughter was married in The Coconut Grove a few months ago and our long time friend Monica organised everything for us.The day was so beautiful and having drinks on the Ocean lawn to dinner in the Monach room .it could not have been more special to us all.
The position on Waikiki Beach is second to none .Through out our years of staying at The Royal we have had many different rooms in all ares of the hotel and have been happy in every one of them .
We travel the world extensively and have stayed in some fabulous hotels but The Royal is truly the only one where we feel at home .

Room Tip: Really all the rooms are wonderful.

This first time stay in Hawaii was made special by this hotel, the ultimate of service from the time we approached the front desk to check out. I would not hesitate recommending this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Waikiki. We were away from home a month, checked in the last four days, and the service and amenities at this hotel made us want to stay another week.

Room Tip: We stayed in a Garden room and it was quiet and very comfortable.

beautiful castle-like beachfront hotel in honolulu, a great luxury hotel with a nice vintage feeling. first class service, fresh flower leis , fresh made banana bread, and large high-ceilinged rooms with nice outlooks and excellent appointments. we just enjoyed a wonderful week of peace and pampering at the legendary pink palace and would highly recommend it to anyone. the restaurant, maitai bar, and expansive palm groves and gardens make this a standout vacation spot. the beach out front is the best and the quiet polite staff soften the otherwise loud touristy feeling along kalakau avenue,

Room Tip: ask for a room in the original low rise building and enjoy garden views, easy access to the beach, a...

Beautiful !( and it's on Waikiki Beach) The poolside Beach Boys took care of our needs while we enjoyed our favorite pair of loungers. Sipping a Mai Tai with views of Diamond Head and the Ocean... what's not to love? The hotel is a pink oasis nestled away from the hectic Waikiki areas. Staying here you DO have signing privleges at neighboring Sheraton properties and use of the Sheraton Hotel's water-playground area. The Royal Hawaiian's tranquil, shaded pool area is for hotel guests only.
After a long trip from the mainland it's lovely to be offered a cool drink and a sit down check in. We stayed in the older main hotel in a room overlooking Royal Coconut Grove. If you've been to Honolulu, you know the rooms are smaller. Our room was very clean & nicely appointed, with a smaller bathroom. We loved the historic atmosphere and the level of service we recieved during our stay. As this was an anniversary trip, they sent up a complimentary tray with their famous Pink Cake, a bottle of Sparkling Rose and a large bowl of Lychee Nuts.
The Royal Hawaiian is comfort and luxury with the feeling of family. Perfect Aloha !

We stay at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel at least once a year for a kamaaina staycation and always have an enjoyable stay. We love the amenities the Royal offers (daughter loves the refreshing drinks offered at check-in, I love the banana mac nut muffins waiting for you in the room) and the kids love the flexibility of being able to go next door to the Sheraton Waikiki to use their pool and water slide. The Royal pool and hot tub is small and geared towards adults/pool staff who frown at kids playing in and around the pool and kids under 16 aren't allowed in the Royal hot tub. Kids can use the Sheraton's hot tubs, though, so if you have kids, just walk next door with your pink and white towels. The beach in front of the hotel is perfect for taking a short paddle out to the surf break or cruising around with the kids in the shallow water.

We prefer the historic hotel rooms which were renovated a couple years ago over the newer tower rooms. In the historic rooms, expect that the bathrooms will be smaller due to the building being from 1927!

Drinks at the Mai Tai Bar are always a treat...strike up a conversation with Ryan or any of the other friendly bartenders and relax and have a good time...you're on vacation!

Thank you for taking the time to share your wonderful review of The Royal Hawaiian. It's always great to welcome our kama'aina guests and an added bonus to read about your exceptional experience. We're thrilled to see that your children took full advantage of our shared Helumoa Pool with Sheraton Waikiki, as we know it's a huge plus for the young ones! We look forward to welcoming you back again next year for your annual staycation.

I have read about this hotel for years and have always wanted to stay here. I have been saving up and we finally made to the Royal Hawaiian (and Oahu for the first time) Mar. 3-7! Got a pretty good deal buying our stay and tix together on Hawaiian airlines website. We had a lovely room on the 2nd floor of the main hotel with beautiful view of the water! It was just perfect for us - we loved the bed and the linens. Our housekeeper (Judith?) was so friendly and sweet every morning when we saw her in the hallway. Avis checked us in and went out of her way to welcome us. And when we checked out, joe was terrific and we met Lisa, who checked to make sure we enjoyed our stay! The bar staff was great. We didn't have one bad experience. As for the expensive beach chairs, we just opted to lay on the gorgeous beach-no biggie. Hotel is right in the middle of everything but still very quiet. I am missing it terribly already and we will definitely be back! Mahalo Royal Hawaiian and fabulous staff!
